draytalon
OMG, I'm beginning to hate mods (not really). Ok, after making a mistake during my game play, i decided to restart my game, only done upto laying down ASAM's using the SS2 mods. Old Paul arrives, not in person, just a floating head and hands, no body or legs, finding it funny i just went with this till Lily turns up with her 2 sidekicks, she had no body either. The only change to mods i have done, was to delete Ketaro's Treasure Hunt. So i installed the mods again, still Old Paul and Lilly have no body????? Anyone have ideas what's going on
Blinxys
Not much of an idea, but it's a bother. Happens a lot to my companions going in and out of interiors of custom mods.Something get's lost in translation from data to screen.Related to dead raiders' missing bodies and the like. :geek: Did you change your load order? That could contribute, but it is an intrinsic bug native to this environment.Assuming not everyone is without a body, it could be high polycount/bodygen or some such, but that hardly makes sense in my experience. :ermm: One fix is just to open their inventory, (by hook or by crook), and change anything they are wearing, even off and on.That usually makes their body return, but it's a PITA.
showler
If it is only SS2 NPCs showing the problem I would check if you have any required asset packs and also check if you might have a corrupted BSA. SS2 has their own forums where you might get help as well.
Blinxys
@Showler, you're right about the assets and support thread, but if I'm understanding anything, isn't it a BA2 file?(I only ask for Clarity's sake). @draytalon you can' t go forward until you go back. Menaing if you uninstalled/reinstalled mod.Especially, if in different order, but it really doesn't matter with 101+ other variables you have to start from before the first change took place. In such a case a new game is the only guarantee it will read it right. Otherwise, unpack related BA2s and inspect textures/meshes yourself, but there's probably nothing wrong with them inherently.
showler
Yeah, you're right. BSA is Skyrim.
StormWolf01
BA2 is the Fallout 4 archives.I dunno the mod, since I didn't put much time into settlements, back when I played the game. There's a possibility of loose files, but again, I dunno. Talon. Essentially what is happening is that the clothes aren't made for the bodies that are being used.Wearable items REPLACE the parts of the body that they are assigned as slot numbers. So say that you have an arm guard. That replaces the arm, not just worn over it. If the mesh doesn't match the body, it's not going to show up.That's why you're getting the "Floating head syndrome". (Yes. That IS the name given to this happening....) Try downloading the mod file again, MANUALLY unpack the files. MANUALLY place them in the directories that they need to go into, in your Fallout 4/Data directories.
draytalon
Ok guys thanks for the info, but this isn't just a SS2 problem, i have run around the commonwealth and noticed other npc's with missing bodies. Looks like a complete reinstall of all mods to try and figure which one caused this issue.
HeyYou
Ok guys thanks for the info, but this isn't just a SS2 problem, i have run around the commonwealth and noticed other npc's with missing bodies. Looks like a complete reinstall of all mods to try and figure which one caused this issue.Get the name of one of the problem characters, load up your mods in F4Edit, find that character, and see what mods are affecting it, and what they are doing. Should point you at the right one fairly quickly.
draytalon
@HeyYou, I loaded up F4edit and went through all my mods, found the ones pertaining to Old Paul from SS2, no conflicts highlighted so i am assuming no errors with him, next one was also from SS2, Hesper, so i guess uninstall SS2 and reinstall these mods again, seemingly could be a corrupt file, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
