CouchSprouts
Why am I being forced to keep up on extensions I don't want or use? If I remove them, I am forced to restart Vortex only to find them reinstalled, and only disabled. I only use Vortex for one game, I don't want all of these extensions. Is there a way to remove them? Why do I need them?
showler
They are not removeable, there are reasons they are not removeable, they are very small and cannot possibly be causing an issue for you. If you want to know any more about them, you should search the forum for the other threads about them.
Guest deleted34304850
when you installed windows did you then systematically remove every component of windows that you dont use, for example, maybe notepad, maybe calculator, maybe themes? or did you just leave them alone because removing random chunks of the OS with no rhyme or reason would give you a bad day?same thing with vortex. if you're not using the extensions then great. in that case, they do nothing.if you've got them in your downloads area of vortex you can remove them from there easily enough once vortex has installed them as an update. Solution Dark0ne Posted August 18, 2023 Solution Share Posted August 18, 2023 Why am I being forced to keep up on extensions I don't want or use? Why do I need them? We do this because it's more "graceful" than the alternative for our users. We keep the app as up to date as possible at all times because we do not know when users might want to install a new game we support and start playing (or their could be security patches, or stability patches, or anything else from a myriad reasons why). Before: whenever we updated a game extension the entire app would need to be updated. You'd be prompted to close the app and restart it to continue regardless of what game you are playing and what extension needed to be updated. Now: the extensions update themselves in the background without the need for you to close and restart the app every time we update a single extension. We believe this is better than the previous system.
Guest deleted34304850
its miles better. miles and miles better. small updates pushed out in the background, no constantly redownloading the entire program and re-installing it. it is literally night and day in comparison.
