Can't install Vortex Fallout 4 extension

Hello,

 

Probably it's just me, but I can not find the Fallout 4 extension for Vortex.

I viewed and read many tutorials (mainly Youtube) how to get Vortex working with Fallout 4 but they all does not work for me. I am missing the 'scan for games' button and if I manually search for the Fallout 4 extension I can not find it. Not in Vortex itself as not in the Nexus-website. Although I found the extensions for FO3 and FO4-VR.

 

Probably it is something on my fault, there are a lot of mods for FO4 on Nexus, but Vortex cannot install them. I get the message 'this game is not supported for this mod' or something a like.

I am doing something wrong here, but seriously do not know what it is.

 

Can somebody please help?

PS, I already started the game once. But that did not solve the problem.

I found the solution with 'Add Game Wizard'. here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/155

Installed and tried. And it works.

I do not recall having to add an extension to Vortex for Fallout 4. So, I will have to try out Game Wizard to see what it can do for me.

 

When you say 'it works' does that mean you can add mods and play the game without issues?

 

 

EDIT:

 

Looking over the mod, I noticed the description said this extension is intended for use with games that are not currently supported by Vortex but are easy or simple to mod. That sounds more like a tool for someone who wants to make their own mods. Is that what you want to do?

You've probably accidentally disabled it in the extensions section. Click show bundled and search for FO4

Thank you, both of you.

 

Indeed after installing the Game Wizard and configuring it I can install mods and play the game without issues.

 

And, Pickysaurus, you are right, after clicking 'show bundled' I can see FO4. I did not know that.

But in this list are a lot of games I do not own. They are even enabled! I hope Nexus will fix this in the next update.

 

Everything works with the Game Wizard.

Nothing to fix. That's why they are "bundled".
