CrKhan09
Vortex version 1.9.10 Running Skyrim AE version 1.61130.0 Launching via SKSE64 version 2.24 Windows 11 Home, 64 bit OS, 32 GB RAM 289 active mods Problem started after game update. Whenever I start the game my entire mod list disables itself in Vortex. I have tried re-installing vortex.

Solution Zanderat Posted December 6, 2023 Solution Share Posted December 6, 2023 Possible fix. Unfortunately, with the new forums, I can't link to it. The fix is on the SSE Engine Fixes page in the current post by Hadariel101, timestamp is 06 December 2023, 4:54AM
Pickysaurus
This would imply that something outside of Vortex is messing with your plugins.txt file and causing mods to be disabled.
CrKhan09
Hmmm, that leaves either the game itself or SKSE. I already tried reinstalling both. I noticed afterwards that Wrye Bash isn’t working either as it says all the game esm files have bad headers now. I guess I’ll try the SSE Engine fixes and if that doesn’t work, uninstall everything, delete all the folders and restart from scratch.
CrKhan09
Looks like nothing is working. I’m gonna just go ahead and delete everything and try a clean reinstall.
CrKhan09
Clean reinstall didn’t work. The SSE engine fixes solution that was mentioned suggests turning off “EnableAchievementsWithMods” in the EngineFixes.toml text file. However that solution was given for MO2. Is there an equivalent function for Vortex that might work? I don’t know if game text files can be accessed via Vortex.
CrKhan09
NVM, found it. For anyone else having this issue, look for the EngineFixes.toml file via the “open mod staging folder” option under “Open” in Vortex. Disabling the Achievements with mods option worked. FYI, looks like the Achievements Mod Enabler still works though.

I have the same problem with you and your fix seem to fixes plugins disabling themself but I realized that shift+tab screen menu and screenshot(f12) shortcuts for steam version doesn't work. Also shift+tab and screenshots are only available if I start the game from steam launcher instead of SKSE. İt wasn't like this before the update
AmenRa333
Figured id post this since even with disabling achievements in SSE Engine fixes. The game was still not loading any of my mods. Alright so found a solution to get things playable for myself with all this Bethesda Bs. So Vortex plugins kept getting disabled a setting in SSE Engine Fixes mod. So if your using that mod, go to your Data folder, open EngineFixes.toml with notepad++ and find and set to EnableAchievementsWithMods = false. This should stop vortex from disabling every plugin every time you start it up. Once you get your plugins all updated/enabled, go to %localappdata% then Skyrim Special Edition, and set Plugins.txt to read only. Skyrim SE/AE should now actually load your mods. So provided you did a butt ton of mod updates and got rid of mods with incompatible .dlls you should be good to go. Just remember if you need to change things in vortex/mo2 you have to remove the read-only from Plugins.txt.
