Jaguar19738
I asked this in another topic, but it was not responded to so I thought I would make a new topic and ask the question. Can a Mod Manager like this Vortex MM be used with Bethesda.net as I use that site for most of my Mods? But some GOOD mods are not on there, only on Nexus, hence my question. showler
Pickysaurus has an extension that will "import" mods from Bethesda.net. Basically, you download them through Bethesda.net, then import them with the extension and they will then be managed by Vortex (you will automatically be unsubscribed from them on Bethesda.net. Downside is that you have to keep track of them yourself to watch for updates and then re-download them on Bethesda.net in order to update the mod. vortexposer
Another option is to "manually" import into custom mod (using custom mod extension), keeping the beth.net manifest file in Root\Creations or Mods folder intact and setting to engine injector mod type. This will allow imported mod to be enabled/disabled but still retain connection with beth.net, ensuring that its status remains capable of being updated directly from their site - when enabled/deployed. Jaguar19738
These are not the Answers I was looking for thanks for the alts but a simple question was asked. Can the Vortex MM be used in conjunction with DLs from the Bethesda Site?
HeyYou
It can, but, there is hoop jumping involved. Most of the creations are an esp/esm/esl, and an archive, or three. Trick would be to move them out of the data folder, zip them up into an archive, then drop the archive into vortex, and have it install them. They would then be managed by vortex.... I don't know if there is an easier way......
vortexposer
For the "in-conjunction with part" - Yes, it can be used with. Vortex will not interfere with their being loaded by the game (once enabled). The main reason to "manage" their mod content is to be toggleable but also to avoid the need to interact with bethesda.net menus... Which can conflict with how managers override their plugins.txt in AppData. bc whichever "tool" writes to it last, wins. So-to-speak. Jaguar19738
@vortexposer & @HeyYou Thanks for the response, I was asking as some mods only exist on Nexus that I like but are not on Bethesda.net which has a lot of old Mods, most no longer work, but a few still do. I also figured Fallout London would also be placed on Nexus. I think the only other Mod that may work in conjunction with FOLON will be the "Modern Firearms (Tactical Edition) as most weapon mods usually have the weapons spawned at fixed places. whereas the above-mentioned Mod does not allow you simply type in the command for the container and when you come out of the console it is there, thus getting one hand on some weapons in the early stages of FOLON and Armor to boot, downside is until you get a Settlement to Administer the PVM Machine that comes with the Mod will not be able to be placed so you would be stuck with the weapons from the container in the state they come in.
