jjb54
Thanks Bethesda, for screwing up my game play on Skyrim and Fallout 4. So what did you do? You decided to embed some mods that I really honestly DO NOT LIKE OR WOULD EVER PLAY, if given the choice. I am unable to disable these mods, because if I do - the BASE GAMES will *NOT* load!! What made you think I would, or anyone would just like our games loaded with MODS that, well, we could give a rats ass about? So, the problem is this: The mods that I do enjoy causes GLITCHES to my game that either I have to "live with" and/or remove the mod I really want for the crap you gave me! Some of the Mods do not even work correctly. ................................ Weapons don't work. ................................ NPC lock, stutter and such. ................................ Quests are not able to be finished and so on. ................................ Mods that I use, CONFLICT with your mods. Thus taking away MY CHOICE. Even the mods that you gave, are UNSUPPORTED by the MOD CREATORS, because "Bethesda did this, and we have no idea how they programed them into the game." We would have NO IDEA how to 'patch it' and such." So, maybe, you should have GIVEN US THE CHOICE, since we paid for the game to be OUR GAME, not yours! Load this BASE GAME - *IF* you want the following MODS and give an outline of the mods. Load this BASE GAME - *IF* you DO NOT WANT the following mods. Yes, I would be fine with ALL or NOTHING. But here is the issue. I think you KNOW we would not go for the CRAP LOADED MOD version. Mods are subjective and players differ in their game play and mods they want and/or do not want and you FORCED it on us and you ruined *OUR* game! Keep this up and you are going to find, less and less support and a FAN BASE! It took me months to want to go back to Skyrim, because of what you did. Even longer after your F-Up of Fallout 4. I just started it and well the mods I like and want to use, create "issues" with the crap you forced on us. I just may go back to Fallout 3 - NV, because thankfully you've not F'd those games up! . o O ( Please DO NOT! )
fraquar
There is an old adage that fits PERFECTLY here. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... shame on me." Never make the same mistake twice. When they gave us fair warning they were pushing an update - the bells and whistles should have sounded. ---- At the end of the day - the person behind the mouse and keyboard is in charge of managing their modded game. That includes monitoring Bethesda updates and reacting accordingly. ---- On a side note - it's one of the reasons why I moved to GOG. Bethesda titles (with few exceptions) are Single Player games - they should never be treated with pushed updates like they are Multi-Player games. ---- Lastly, your issue shouldn't be with Bethesda. It should be with Steam - for forcibly pushing updates to Single Player games instead of allowing the players who paid for that game to CHOOSE whether they want to install it or not. I mean if Steam is going to grab up distribution rights to Single Player games that are INTENDED to be modded - they should understand exactly the repercussions of what they are pushing on their PAID user base. You are correct .. but Steam would not have done it, unless Bethesda told them to. I agree 100% with : On a side note - it's one of the reasons why I moved to GOG. So now I back up the current game folder - saved games and such .. to overwrite any new updates!
showler
Pushed updates was one of the major selling points for Valve to convince publishers to put their games on Steam. Game companies are far more concerned with making sure people aren't using outdated versions of the game and the impact that has on support than they are about whether people's mods are causing issues. lefttounge
That's EXACTLY why I never update. I don't even use SE; this is the exact reason why. Because with SE Skyrim, Bethesda can update whenever they want, and if I mess up and accidently update a game, it's screwed. Also, both SE and LE are the same exact game, it's not like if SE was Beyond Skyrim, and LE was the base game, no, it's literally the same game. It doesn't matter if I have a 'climbing a rock' mod, I'm scaling the same rock that I've past a thousand times. It doesn't matter if I can now hangliding down a mountain off High Hrothgar, I'm flying over the same exact plains I've passed a thousand times--I can simply be a vampire lord in LE, turn off tcl, and do the same exact thing, nothing has changed. And yet people still keep feeding the Bethesda drone, and wonder why people pick on them for liking Starfield. Because Starfield is crap. Fallout 4 doesn't need anymore updates, it needs a fallout 5. And Skyrim SE is pointless, my game in LE has over 200+ mods and doesn't crash, it's stable. Honestly though! I'll never understand the appeal in people who keep bowing before Bethesda. It must be a masochist thing; they like being in pain and suffering.

BUT IF I knew that this is where Bethesda was going to go ... Sadly Bethesda has shown their hand as far as Fallout 4 and Starfield. They can no longer tell stories at all. They can only do stupid things like: Settlement Building ( Fallout 4 ) - They tried to be SimCity and FAILED 100%. They had great potentials for Quests / Stories and didn't go there. Made Sandbox ( useable ) smaller then FO 3 and NV and Skyrim. Oh it "looks bigger" but a lot of that is USELESS WATER. What they had: * Strong ( Mutant ) - Quest to find the Milk of Human Kindness and the lady that helped him. ( a journal or something ) * Deacon - His Synth wife. Was she really killed? OR a quest to find she is still very much alive and that she had a baby by Deacon. Not supposed to happen! * Dance ( Brotherhood of Steel ) - Quest of how / where he came from and his synth history. * Preston Garvey - Originally Mama Murphy was suppose to be a Black Lady. But P.C. stopped Bethesda. IF they had gone to that, Mama Murphy kept from Preston that she is his Grandmother, Quest. But ... they failed in story telling in FO 4 and Starfield. I am actually hoping they don't do Elder Scroll IV ... unless they do a MAJOR UPGRADE in how to tell stories!

I am actually hoping they don't do Elder Scroll IV ... unless they do a MAJOR UPGRADE in how to tell stories! It's very sad, actually, but I have given up all hope in Bethesda. First off, they can't take 15 years to make a game, fun fact: if the game you're trying to make and the story you're trying to tell can't all be released in just 4 years or less, then don't waste your time trying to build it. in 4 years from now, I'm gunna be 36---will I even be able to find the time to still play games?! Just to put it in perspective, I didn't go out on my first date until I was 27, but I was asking for that since I was 15 (the date I went on still didn't work out) And so things happen, times change, Bethesda can't just comfortably say they can take all these years to build a game, and think that their going to be relevant, it doesn't matter "how much goes into a game" I missed the part, well that's my problem. A game needs to be sent out quickly in order to catch the trend-waves. They cannot take this long to release a game, it just doesn't work like that at all. But they're delusional, so they literally think it does, which shows that the CEOs at Zenimax legit have dementia, because there's no way a sane person would conceive that. It's also a shame, because Skyrim and fallout 4, I'm just getting sick of playing. You can tell by my endless feet pics that I'm not really even playing fallout 4 anymore at this point. I'm just f*#@ing around That gets old very quickly, even for me Edited September 30 by lefttounge

I'm just f*#@ing around That gets old very quickly, even for me Well, they just need a new engine... (And a new writer). Retracing, auto-generation of LODs, animation combiner independent of 3D editors, built into ck, mesh optimization technology similar to Nanite, etc. After this it would make sense to talk about fo5. The main problem with ce is that it is Frankenstein. It has links to a bunch of technologies that do not belong to Bethesda, is assembled from pieces, requires third-party software, often expensive, or is completely closed. Next, Bethesda will face the same problems as the tank factory, which the new owner decided to convert into a truck factory. The problem is that it is much cheaper to build a new plant than to refurbish an old one. My opinion is that fo5 will no longer be released by Bethesda. Bethesda won't handle fo5.
showler
And you're basing that on Microsoft NOT wanting any of the massive amounts of money Bethesda has made with the franchise?
