Mod Browsing Overhaul Discussion

I really don't like all the useless space in the new UI, it feels like the appearance of the main pages for the different games are both clunky and isn't using all available space when watching on the pc. And spoiler, modding PC games are mostly done on the PC, trying to do it on the phone sounds backwards so why can't the PC internet reader get support first, before you guys try to force mobile compatibility in?

This s#*! is f*#@ing terrible and whatever webdev has been in charge of this atrocious mess should go back to school and sit in detention facing a wall for a week before taking basic programming classes again because it literally lags like f*#@ on Firefox.  It spikes my CPU usage by at least 10% while still being a stuttering mess.  This is the very definition of enshittification.

Why are there fewer mods per row now?  Why are collections that I don't give a f*#@ about front and center?  Why does the MOD SEARCH bring me VIDEOS and IMAGES?

I can only sincerely hope that web traffic and download count has a drop because that's the only metric that might elicit a change, despite the fact that nearly all feedback I've seen on this change has been negative.

Not a fan of the new visuals, idk if " I'll grow into it" without some of the same changes that were already cited my many.

Search is honestly a downgrade.

I don't use mobile but people I chat with and trust have said it's not great, that being the main reason I'm even writing this as I don't spent that much time here.

No comment searching.

Plus it does feel a bit slower in general, for me at least, tho I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it was a "your pc" problem.

You might wanna try to delete your cache folder. I had huge lags on Brave with the new UI and deleting my cache folder resolve the issue. Don't know why tho

I'm absolutely not one to hate something because it's new. Actually I tend to be unpopular because I often like redesigns of logos and apps and websites...

But this is the ugliest website design I've seen... probably ever (seriously, the early internet eye-killer rainbow alien websites look SO MUCH BETTER than this). If I saw THIS the first time I opened Nexus I probably wouldn't have taken it seriously.

No, we're not complaining because it's new. We're complaining because it's hideous.

I don't think lack of traffic would change anything and they have a monopoly by being the biggest mod site, lack of traffic for them is just not possible. Now if everyone canned their premium, if everyone started using Ublock that theoretically could do something.

Either that or some martyr DDoS' them. (For legal reasons I am stating that I do NOT mean for anyone to start doing that.)

It'd be one thing if it was just ugly, but it is not dyslexia-friendly. Everything blends into one block since there aren't clear enough seperations between sections.

Tried that, no change.  Still an embarrassing, stuttering mess that is aggravated by the fact that I have to scroll so much more past empty space and things that aren't mods on this backwards redesign to find MODS on a MODDING SITE.

The ironic thing is is that these forums don't lag, stutter, or cause CPU spikes and are reasonably responsive despite having the same visual layout.

Its too unfortunate because there is no platform competition. I wish there was another platform to compete with nexus for modding. They know they have the monopoly or the biggest share in the modding world that they dgaf about our complains... I would so much like to give them the middle finger and just move somewhere else since they actually show their true intents about the community's feeling.

Really hating the new website design.

Not easy to use, not well laid out. Have mod categories been removed, or why can't I find this on home page? Why is it actually so hard to find everything?

For everything you're saying, such as making it 'easier to use' and 'more accessible', it really seems like you are trying to do the complete opposite. Keep these changes optional, and let people opt in to continue using the old site as I absolutely hate this, and will be cancelling my premium as I do not want to support this.
