I'm sorry you have not seen one of the mystical Hotjar surveys. You do write very wonderfully though, I'm hoping that writing is part of your day job.

Others have told me this as well.
Unfortunately, I've been sidelined by a massive heart attack back in 28th December, and need to keep my blood pressure low, by browsing websites with awesome Quick Searches and customizable colors, contrast.

Genuinely sorry to hear about the heart attack. It has definitely not impacted your ability to deal explosive written feedback.

What do you not like about the quick search, please can you summarise if possible? Bear in mind we are working on the option to change your default search category i.e. if you just want to see mods in search you can default to just mods.

For me the quick search is a lot more powerful. Quick search now shows previously unavailable data, like your recent searches and your favourite games, which is useful if you want to swap between games on the fly.
Searches like “Pip-Boy” will now show relevant “Pip Boy” content, because special characters can now be considered. FO4 now shows Fallout 4 content, as we've added the ability to use keywords, and users can suggest any new custom search terms. There's some planned additions to the left hand side filters as well.

Allowing a couple different themes would be a godsend. Not everyone is vision impaired, and color schemes that cater to that, are just not the best for the majority of folks that are not..... Having the choice of one or two 'high contrast' settings, and maybe a couple 'normal'? color schemes would be awesome.

Thank you for engaging with me. I DO appreciate what you guys are trying to do.....

Genuinely appreciate the feedback @HeyYou and your understanding. There's a bunch of stuff around better communicating visual identity that's being looked at. I can't commit to anything but your feedback has been seen by product and design.

Then we have the search page.... The popout window doesn't really work that well. I get one round of results, but, If I look at one of the results, the search windows is gone. Never to be seen again..... However, if I use a search term I have used before, I get the results in my browser window, not the search window..... Which is what I much prefer.....

Thanks. It really changes your outlook on life when you're laying there in the ER with people cutting your clothes off with scissors, while you've been given a minute to use your cellphone to give a friend “Just-in-case”, Goodbyes.

I made two specific posts going into excruciating detail, with a neatly bulleted list.
Remember, when reading them, I use CAPS for EMPHASIS, I'm not YELLING.

Here's an excerpt from it, with the link above.

The best features of the old Quick Search...

-1. With the old quick search, you could type in a partial name of a mod (which is EXTREMELY HANDY, due to some people's choices of naming their mods, or not putting SPACES in the names), and Quick search used to do that and find them. WITHOUT LEAVING THE MAIN PAGE.

-2. Can't quite remember the name of a mod? Start typing in some words that you might remember being in the mod title, and all of a sudden the dropdown list starts adapting and showing you ONLY THE RESULTS you're looking for. WITHOUT LEAVING THE MAIN PAGE.

-3. You could RIGHT-CLICK on each Search Dropdown entry, and “OPEN IN NEW TAB”, so you could have all of those pages queued up to look at, THANKS TO QUICKSEARCH.
And most importantly, WITHOUT BEING TAKEN AWAY FROM THE START PAGE. I can't emphasize that enough. If your search failed, you just wiped the search box, and tried a new word. WITHOUT LEAVING THE MAIN PAGE.

-4. You could also fill that dropdown list with search results, and then hit ENTER, and be IMMEDIATELY taken to an EASILY Browsable LIST with Thumbnails and easy to see mod titles, to continue your search there. There was no unnecessary and wasteful Pop-Up box with big EZ-READER Pictures© to stare at, while you tried to make some sense out of all the “Pretty Colors” all smashed together in a grid, instead of quickly scan a list of WORDS.

The window is gone but your recent searches are saved and can be run again.

I would like to add on to this that my most common use case for the quick search is opening a mod someone mentioned in comments, in a new tab. Being able to quickly type in a partial name and center-click the mod to open a new tab was ideal, especially in cases where I had to rapidly change the search because the name given was incomplete or inaccurate. Having the search window hide the comment I'm looking at is a moderate annoyance on that front.

There needs to be a “THIS!” or “LOVE” or “100%” emoji response option in the forum. To go with the “Sad”, “Confused”, “Haha” and “Thanks” options.

If I were to sum it up more concisely: I use quick search when I already know what mod I want. I use full search when I am trying to find a mod I hope might exist.
