Qaerixxszhara
So I made a very simple .esp for myself for Skyrim Legendary Edition that removes a spell from an NPC. That's all it does. I loaded Skyrim and Dawnguard as the only master files and touched nothing else. When I enabled the plugin in Vortex and deployed my mods, Vortex gave me an error message saying it was refusing to sort my plugins because the new .esp I made was "not a valid plugin". Uhm...okay? What does that even mean and how do I fix it? The .esp does exactly what it was supposed to do so if it works as intended why is it "not valid"? ChemBoy1
How did you make the plugin? Clearly it was not made properly. I've used thousands of Skyrim mods and never seen a single plugin with that issue. Made plenty of patches myself as well that don't have this problem. I would suggest learning how to use xEdit properly. There are many tutorials out there. Make sure your using latest version. showler
Since it's LE you might have to be careful that it's not saved in an SE format.

All I did was load up the creation kit, load the Skyrim and Dawnguard masters, remove the spell from the actor, save and close. I've done this countless times before without incident so why would it suddenly s#*! itself now?
ChemBoy1
Seems like this is really an issue with using Creation Kit, not Vortex. Please ask on the appropriate forum. There is probably some setting you are missing in CK.
Solution vortexposer Posted March 10 Solution Share Posted March 10 It's more or less a random LOOT warning/notification to say it didn't or couldn't (at that time) sort the plugin properly. Can usually be ignored - unless plugin doesn't actually assign to an index. E.g. shows "?" in load order column, iirc

Because even if I turn the plugin off, deploy, turn it back on and deploy again there is no error now.
Community Manager Pickysaurus Posted March 12 Community Manager Share Posted March 12 If the plugin is being edited or is locked or in any other way is being interfered with when the built-in LOOT library tries to parse it, you'll get an error. If the error goes away next time Vortex sorts your load order, there's nothing to worry about.
