Yeah I still haven't made it very far, but I heard about the flash points.

If you've only HEARD of flashpoints then you haven't given the game a proper chance...by a long shot

As far as i'm concerned swtor is not a flop, i'm no mmo vet but it has a good audience still and like I said most bitterness comes from guys who obsess over kotor and cant appreciate the game for it's content, and most likely never gave it a chance i.e. actually playing it to try and cap at least ONE player. There are 4 classes for 2 factions but some people think they know the ins and outs by playing to lv 10 with one character:rolleyes: i'm in the process of maxing my lv 55 jedi consular and progressing my jedi sentinal, yet from what I hear from fellow players there are some cool stories to play.

I have tried a few mmo f2p game accounts but none have the same level of interaction as swtor, that's including wow which I would be happy to never touch again

Maybe I'm just feeling a little depressed tonight, but I feel compelled to add this as an addendum to my story. Basically, the whole throwing-the-beer-at-my-car thing was class related. Australian society is a whole lot uglier in reality than what you see on TV. It's very stratified, and there are huge divides in political ideology, education and hob security between various strata. In addition, a few years ago the tariff wall that protected our economy by keeping competition away, was removed.

This caused huge problems for local manufacturing; many rich Australian investors simply sacked vast portions of the workforce and started making things overseas, creating a new underclass of poorly educated people with little access to money or a job. It's little surprise that there's tension between higher and lower classes; it's not the violent sort of tension, more the "I really don't like you" clenched jaw sort of tension.

How does this pertain to the story? I'm upper class. I'm not proud of that fact, but I am. I went to university and didn't have any trouble finding a well-paying job. I hardly even have an Australian accent; my mother was an English academic. I can't identify with the politics at that end of Australian society, but I can sort of forgive the guy. If I was getting by on welfare, was drunk, and saw what looks like an expensive car, I'd probably hurl a bottle at it to.

This image is really quite gory, but it's too poetically descriptive of Australian society for me not to post it; a Wedge-Tail Eagle sitting on a dead Kangaroo. Two of Australia's Heraldic animals, but they both have utterly different connotations.

I haven't really noticed. I guess everyone out in this rural community just considers everyone else to be equal, since we're all living in the same conditions. There are a few rich people who flaunt their Apple devices and flashy cars, but I don't really care about it. What matters is my own stuff - I don't covet.

... Unless it's a good computer.

@ Game of Thrones talk:

I haven't watched the TV series because I read all the books before they came out. I did watch a few episodes but I haven't acquired them all.

Still waiting on the last book, though. At this rate, the show will catch up to the books before George R. R. Martin is finished with them.

As for activities in my life (since you are all so interested), I went to this obstacle-course/dome/wildlife place on top of a casino today. It was cool (aside from it being hot) and we got lots of photos and injuries (grazed my arm, my brother got hit in the nuts, sister got scratched by the koala she was holding) and yeah.

I've done two or three flash points, I just meant I heard that there was a flash point that related to KOTOR. I would play the game more, but it's one of the games that runs pretty poorly on my laptop.

I've tried some other F2P ones as well, particularly things that got a lot of praise from people, but none of them were interesting enough for me to ever go back to. Then again, the two that I have played I still haven't reached the highest level. I'm close in GW2 (and not even close in the original GW, but I don't know that I'll ever play that again) and halfway or so in SWTOR on a new-ish character.

One MMO I can recommend trying is the new(ish) Final Fantasy MMO, a Realm Reborn. It's not for everyone; FF games are like that, but it is a good game and something to remember if you get bored. The real strengths here are the pretty graphics and the gorgeous art-style; particularly the outfits and weapons, which are nicer even at middle-levels than many MMO's raid gear. There's also a real passion in the background which I like; the community is passionate and there's a palpable sense that the developers love the game and put a massive amount of effort into getting it back on track.

FFXIV in a nutshell: It'll literally set your PC on fire, but it's about as graphically beautiful as an MMO gets: it's about equal to a moderately graphic-modded Skyrim.

One to avoid is Neverwinter. Neverwinter looks good on the outside, but there's some... disturbing stuff going on behind the scenes. There's something very fetishistic about it's portrayals of women, and a seeming obsession with women's crotches: most of their animations in some way revolve around waving their genitals around and moaning. It's... disturbing as much as it is offensive. That's not the only problem though; Neverwinter is pretty much as comprehensively awful as an MMO can get; unreliable, generic, and deeply unimaginative. The whole game feels like a (bad) pre-alpha, and it looks about fifteen years old. Which is about the target age-group, apparently.

Neverwinter in a nutshell: women's crotches. Everywhere. Did I mention most of the outfits feature a cameltoe? it's... pretty disgusting.

Including Boethiah?

Anyway, welcome!

yea Boethiah as well right now im looking for a way to send this Ebonarm guy into the void..

he's been messing with daedra for a long time and sithis doesn't like that

after all he's the reason for us mortals existence. he made Anuiel eat himself alive.

if it wasn't for sithis's will, no aedra nor daedra would ever set foot in this reality which means no planes of oblivion which means no tamriel and finally no mortal.

So all of you say this with me... All Hail Sithis

High-powered magnets are NOT toys.

you can NOT Imagine the fun i had with those

It isn't sexy IronMan, it's just gross. The characters are so low-res and low-poly, and so disfigured looking that it's more disgusting than anything else. And besides, they're so distorted they barely look human. I have never seen a human woman who measures over a metre wide at the shoulders and hips, has an L-shaped spine, and a microscopic waist. If it's anything, it's disgusting.

I thought that was generic MMO formula? 90% (more or less) of MMO games I've seen feature scantily clad women who do... everything... in a hypersexualised way.

That's one of the main reasons I don't play MMOs much: they are very degrading, and seem to revel in it.
