Aelius28
For some reason, no matter what mod I download, it doesn't work in game. When I launch Oblivion I press Data Files, and I check off all the mods that I want. Then I go in game, load my saved game, and none of the mods work. Anyone know why? Baraka
For some reason, no matter what mod I download, it doesn't work in game. When I launch Oblivion I press Data Files, and I check off all the mods that I want. Then I go in game, load my saved game, and none of the mods work. Anyone know why? I do know when I make my own mod, unlike Morrowind, in Oblivion TESCS - I have to physically place every unique item I have created in TESCS by hand with drop/drag from the list to the Render Window or my preference - with the Edit-Search/Replace function at the bottom of the Edit dropdown list because that will replace everything exactly where I put it during my buildingtime & in the correct scale I used. If I don't do it by hand or Edit-Search/Replace, when I go into the game to find my new creations, there are only the standard game items in the places where my unique objects should be. I hope the authors of these mods you are using knew that & tested their creations b4 uploading. But, I don't think it could be that...at least the mod would be there, just not with the custom-altered peices.
Aelius28
Hundreds of people have downloaded these mods, and none of which have commented about anything not working. I am confident it is something I am doing wrong, or not doing at all. I just cant figure it out. The readme's for all these mods say the same thing, put it into my data folder, run Oblivion, double click the mod I want in the game under Data Files, and then enjoy. I do all that, and yet it doesn't work.
Dark0ne
While I cannot help you with your problem please stop posting the same thing in every mod topic. Replying to this thread will do just fine. Thanks.
Aelius28
I am not posting in every mod topic, I am posting in the topics for the mods which I have installed. Hopefully the person who made the mod can help me out. Oh, but wait, someone deleted my posts because they thought it would be considered spam... It's not. And if I only post my problem in this topic, the chances of getting help greatly decrease.
Dark0ne
It is considered SPAM on these boards and would also be considered SPAM on the official forums. Please stop it.
Adras
What I suggest you do, Aelius28, is to just list down the mods that you downloaded that dont work, and since I know there are not nearly the amount of mods for Oblivion as there are Morrowind, it is a somewhat decent chance that the authors will come and check out the various forums to see what people think of their mods. Just a suggestion meaning that you dont have to do it.
ThetaOrionis01
Have you tried starting a new game rather than loading a save?
Aelius28
No, Theta, not yet. I planned to start a new character after I got the mods to work.
Daethar
I've had the same problem, especially with starting a new game and trying, for example, the eye color mods. In fact, it seems a lot of the texture mods do not work, as my gold pieces don't get the benefit from the better gold piece texture (not even a mod, I just apply this and it overwrites the default texture). I cannot be a Dremora custom race. Cannot have the colored eyes. The UI and compass mods do not take off the map and compass markers, but the UI does resize my menus.Quite odd.
