i use OBMM and wrye bash for oblivion.

Is there a better alternative to NMM for skyrim? I want to avoid NMM if possible.

That would be Mod Organizer : http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1334/?

It is really is awesome. I would suggest creating profiles upfront. With profiles you can have more than one different game + mod-setup.

wow, i had heard of this before but i was unsure because for ages i just relied on the green button and NMM

but after years of skyrim i went back to oblivion and was forced to become a little bit more involved with my mods. this made me use other programs but i never thought how useful MO could be. what an amazing piece of kit. it has changed my modding lifestyle. thanks. i will also endorse the proprietors.

Hello, I'm trying to add texture to my obj. in NifSkope, but for some reason it just stay grey. However when I add my texture to a nif. extracted from Skyrim everything works...

Images that explains better than me

I see two issues actually. Is the first axe actually showing up like that? Because it means the UV has not been saved properly.

As for the bottom weapon, it will show up gray because the texture path is only reading from the root texture folder. This is normal and the right way to do it. If you use the full path, like you have with the top weapon, it will show up properly in game(if memory serves me) but will not for others due to have different drive names, or paths, etc.

Ops, see I did not explain good enough, my bad

One the picture of the axe I added my own texture, that is why it's all messed up.

Then I switched out the axe with my own model and added the texture, but then it only stays gray :/

So since the textures worked on the axe, but not the hammer I think it have to be some settings I have got wrong on the hammer, but I have no idea of what :/

MO with skse keeps launching skyrim in a window. I tried using the original launcher and changing the settings and running the game that way to see if it saves the changes to the ini and then relaunch with MO but I keep getting windowed mode. is there an easy way to check launch options in MO that I am missing?

quick question: do disabled objects use up resources (gpu/cpu)?

I can't answer it completely, but think of it this way and decide for yourself:

The objects are still THERE, but they're not being rendered and collision isn't there. The objects exist and can be re enabled, but they're not doing anything anymore.

I imagine they take up less, though I'm not sure how significantly so.

Significantly less. If they are statics and not persistent, virtually none.
