apaosha
Any ideas what the Aliens were doing with them in the Research Lab?
Johssy
The Giddyup emits some sort of gas that makes them all want to ride it, so much so that they'll kill eachother in order to be the one who gets to ride it. Thats the least scary explanation. That or its some sort of super Transformeresque blades-everywhere-oh-god-we're-all-dead robot thats disguised as a clunky robot horse. Additionally, I went through DCinteriors and picked up a Giddyup toy before going to MZ, then after MZ I threw that thing right out of my house. T'em God Damn Aliens! EDIT; wait I just saw a major flaw in the first explanation; Who killed the last dude then? I guess its a Transformeresque blades-everywhere-oh-god-we're-all-dead robot then. falloutperson416
The Aliens were actually alleys with the humans, before the great war of course. They shared there technology, they learned how to communicate, and even went into there alien craft in space.(I know this because I read the GOTY game guide) This is how you will find several alien power cells around the wastes, and in DLC's. The reason the Mothership Zeta returned as enemy's, is because they felt like they had been betrayed by the humans. So, this is why the aliens have several Giddyup Buttercups. They were improving the humans technology, when they were still friends.
Gishank
Can you provide anything to actually back that up such as a scan of the (official) guide? You'll find that the Aliens had been abducting humans and experimenting on them long before the Great War, additionally if they could communicate with the Humans, why wouldn't they? Johssy
I choose to disregard what Falloutperson there is saying. Really does sound like he got it from the game guide, but it sounds so so stupid. Why explain it in such a way? Leaving it a mystery is better. Emitting gas it is, then.
apaosha
I recall that in one of the recordings you find on board, the Aliens are showing the horse to Sally and seem pleased at her response. Which was positive.... My hunch is that the robot horses were an invasion force designed to appear cute and inoffensive until -wham!- blades, knives, buzz-saws and gatling guns everywhere. eLucifer
I always thought the aliens were trying to turn them into some sort of roadsters. You know, an alien riding a horse that shoots lasers out of its eyes. That'd be cool. Someone should make a mod like this.

evilneko
That looks vaguely familiar, like I should recognize it from some cartoon I watched as a kid in the 80s...
