dennisj
I just got skyrim on PC and im very frustrated. I modded the s#*! out of the game to where I wanted it to be so its better then the consoles but I suffering from horrible script lag making the game unplayable. It really pisses me off because apparently this is a common thing and Im going to lose my character I have over 12 hours of game play on.So im wondering how long do your Skyrim saves last if you run into all kinds of issues like this? It almost makes me not want to play anymore to be honest.
SineWaveDrox
The longest I've had a single playthrough last was about 300 hours of gameplay. The only problem I had on that one was that I had gathered so much stuff that my chest in Breezehome took over a minute to load. The highest number of hours on any of my current characters is just under 129 hours. I experience some really odd things with that character occasionally though, since I started that several months ago and have installed and uninstalled tons of mods in that time, so things are getting quite strange at times (but it's fine with me, she's the same character I played in Oblivion, so she's the Madgod, so madness is supposed to follow her around, and it's nothing game-breaking yet). My other characters that are between 20 and 40 hours are still fine though.
DurtyNelly
If you're having bad script lag and craziness after only 12-hours of game play, you probably need to have a hard look at your load order and/or your mods. I had the same issues when I was testing, because I came from console and wanted everything. I wanted Frostfall, Convenient Horses, Realistic Needs, Wet and Cold, Footprints and Hunterborn on top of a complete overhaul. Sadly, it's just not possible. The engine isn't strong enough for everything. I cut back on many of the heavy scripting mods, had to choose between similar ones (like Wet and Cold vs Frostfall) and went with iNeed instead of RND because it's much lighter. Everyone has to do this, and while it's disappointing at first, in the long run you are way better for it because you have a game that will actually run longer than a handful of hours. If you don't mind posting your load order and let us know if you're using SKSE and ENBoost, maybe we can figure out what the issue is, or at least narrow down which ones are causing the problems. Edited November 30, 2014 by DurtyNelly
Novem99
Over 500 hours and no issues (again: NO issues) at all but I have to admit I don't use any of these fancy script heavy mods that are so popular here.
notmyhome
Level 62 on a completely vanilla game. That should translate to ~70-80 hours, right?
Hyacathusarullistad
I've recently come back to an older playthrough that I put down after ~160 hours because I got sick of the buggy-ass Dragonborn DLC. Did about ~20 hours of a CWO playthrough, started missing all my shouts and stuff, and went back. Now I'm at about 180 hours, which is just above average for me these days. I don't recall the most playtime I've put into a single character, though. Probably around 200-250 hours, I'd guess.
Lord Garon
Embarrassingly long times. "...modding the s*** out of the game..." takes some planning and preparation. Gopher makes some great modding vids. The S.T.E.P. crew has a lot of good advice on heavily modding Skyrim.
VolkiharFiend
Not sure how many hours I have on it but I have this save from when I used to play on the console that I played on and off for like 3 years haha. But it's completely vanilla since it's on console. When I do use mods on PC I use the light mods with little to no scripts like the populated series for example.
