Reports came in of the mysterious, invasive, taskforce vanishing into a hidden complex that had not even been officially marked on any map; elite Rangers, and supersoldiers, had stalked the taskforce for some hours before observing it disappearing down great rampways formerly hidden by fake abandoned concrete buildings. Such buildings, real ones, were common in the area from a failed colonial project that explained why once the dirt highway had been built and heavily used.

As the transformations continued, in the LL, now at different places, LabyrinthCity was engulfed and changed. Bigtropolis arose into existence. As reports from Junglenam told, the undead could not survive inside such places, were destroyed by them. The Rainbowman explained that this was deliberate, was no coincidence, and was a left over of a great terrible war fought an incredibly long time ago.

Mulder, and Scully, lived with the J-Triplets, Carmel, and other including superbugs and pet-companions. The RainbowBaby was there along with her companions, she turning out to be female, and new rainbow entities that served her and them. Other metasoldiers (supersoldiers) were there along with metasuperworkers and meta-animals. Then came Tomitom and Anditom, along with plastic-androids called plasticants for special reasons.

Relations between Carmel, her children, and the J-Triplets were warm and the RainbowBaby was happy with all of those there. The atmosphere at the growing RainbowHouse felt good and secure. Yet even at that place there was a sense of approaching troubles as the Green Plastic Army grew more powerful and, with the Orange Plastic Taskforce, served to support and secure those there.

Ginger the Cat sat on her haunches, looking into the eyes of the floating Rainbowbaby, who looked back just as intently. They communicated on some very special, exotic, level as around their bodies the air sometimes sparkled softly.

RainbowHouse altered subtly as the chamber around themselves became the RainbowRoom, a special place for the RainbowBaby and those closest to her along with special minions.

The RainbowRoom was soon becoming the transdimensional 'center' of the RainbowHouse that would one day become the transdimensional center of something much bigger known as RainbowSanctum that would be linked to Sanctum.

None of this was coincidental and Ginger was no more a mortal cat than the RainbowBaby was a mortal human baby!

This said the great, changing, chamber was soon being populated by plastic androids, supersoldiers, cats and others including superbugs and more floating babies, of course.

Great exotic rainbow trees, bushes and structures grew up super fast from rainbow earth partly covered with rainbow grass. From the trees hung growing rainbow orbs and from the bushes, growing rainbow globe shaped fruits. They were for the RainbowBaby to feed upon for only she could do so.

Greatly ancient AraGuardians gathered at the great metallic stone chamber of the AraHeart, a vastly powerful sophisticated device that AraAncients had created only to lose control of it to the Great Enemy. They were ghostly tall figures in robe-tunics but far from horrible or frightening; instead they had a strong peaceful, friendly, even healing influence.

They had ascended, along with all of the AraAncients that had remained truly AraAncients, and had then returned to be guardians of vast AraComplexes that had not been deconstructed at the end of the War of Horrors, as most had been. Remaining AraComplexes had turned out to be too much to deal with by the surviving AraAncients, less than 30% of the number that had existed at the start of the War of Horrors. Some AraComplexes turned out to be far too powerful to deconstruct, they could not be destroyed safely in other ways, having grown apart from AraAncient control and even knowledge.

The AraHeart was brought back under partial control, awareness, by much work and harmonious communications. The AraAncients had once been quite arrogant, except for a small minority, and had paid dearly for being so. The AraHeart had been used against them by the Great Enemy until they had turned the AraHeart back upon the Great Enemy in a way that helped to devastate it, to drive it into transdimensional exile.

Very tall, graceful, the AraGuardians surrounded the disguised AraHeart that looked like a metallic stone sphere on a grand circular base. Such structures dotted the great AraComplex but only one was the AraHeart; all of the thousands of others were either just solid shapeforms or were Lesser AraArtefacts. They began to chant softly and around them gathered many thousands of superbugs along with hundreds of squat humanoids that were in many ways like superbugs, the two being very harmonious with each other. The chanting began louder and then the humanoids joined in, as the AraGuardians wanted them to.

Though the process was not visible, the AraHeart began to wake from an extremely long sleep like state.

Jennie, Jessie, Jonnie: {Empathic impressions of intense emotions.}

Jessie: {"Unity rises, evolves, intertwines and grows both larger and stronger. Now more ships are travelling between the home world, and here in the KLL, many tuned to Unity are coming here. Most end up in Bigtropolis that is growing with astonishing speed."}

Jonnie: {"Growing expediently!"}

Jessie: {"Carmel is the only mother that we know of. She is strong with Unity but at the fringes of it as most older unityfolk are. Early Unity? The babies, the infants, tend to be stronger with Unity but need protection and guidance but also to be respected."}

Jennie: {"We supersoldiers, we are part of Unity in a special way. We can assist young Unity. We will assist them. We are influential amongst our people and have influence on Unity but so does the Rainbowbaby and others, most yet to be identified by us."}

They also exchanged information in more subtle ways, including as multiple sensory impressions and psychic constructs.

Carmel was busy washing the Rainbowbaby with warm soapy suds water, was washing hair that was not there, and the small one was loving it. A damp red baby floated nearby, holding a block of flavoured ice, which it was busy licking. Dogs, cats, superbugs, and others were there. Carmel, dressed in a practical set of fatigues, spoke to Scully who was sitting on a couch reading through a report.

"The intruder taskforce vanished down into the secret base?" She scrubbed the RainbowBaby's smooth back. "The supersoldiers, and UN Rangers, failed to detect them once they went down into the complex."

Scully looked up from where she had been going through the report. "The complex was built as some kind of back up base, way point, to serve an even deeper complex. Much was stripped from it but much was carefully stored and then abandoned. Indications are that the complex was the reason that the dirt highway was built, decades ago, and was heavily used back then. Investigations have revealed little, in the base, since it was stripped of data with great care; that is all kinds of data. Yet some was left to be found, either accidentally or deliberately."

A blue baby figure settled onto her right shoulder while a cat slept, curled up, in her lap. Superbugs clustered with the cat and on her other shoulder. She went on talking. "So far the way that the intrusive taskforce got out of the complex, after entering it, has not been found even by the supersoldiers who are very well skilled, experienced, in finding such things."

An blue coloured plastic dinosaur, a metre tall raptor, was being recharged with electricity in a bay and being fed special liquid from a pipe. After the plasticant Green Soldiers, Orange Keepers, dogs and horses had come other active plastic-flesh entities such as Yellow Servitors, zoo animals, farm animals, trees, dinosaurs and more variations were appearing with every passing day. All were inspired, it seemed, by the plastic toys of Tomitom and Anditom.

Supersoldiers moved gracefully to assist superworkers, looking mostly the same, with the assembling of some machines. Orange Plastic Keepers, in soldier like appearances, assisted by bringing in more metal canisters and plastic lidboxes.

Carmel frowned softly. "Perhaps the 'taskforce' was assisted to go somewhere just as the Rainbowman assisted you, and others, to enter that terrible sealed off area of the museum."

Cats gathered, along with floating babies and superbugs, to study curiously the assembling of the machines. Carmel turned her head to examine what was going on. Scully did not turn her head but she tapped a small red button at her belt, doing so three times.

Carmel spoke. "What are those metas, and plasticants, doing? We expected no machines."

Scully nodded. "They are putting into place some special hitech that the UNPSIA wishes to use to study the Rainbowbaby more deeply."

At that moment the machines vanished with a sparkling shimmer. Those, who had been working on them, leapt back in surprise but the superbugs, and floating babies, did not seem to be effected by what happened. As for the cats, they investigated the now empty area, sniffing at places as they did so.

Carmel smiled as she kept washing the Rainbowbaby. "I do not think that she liked the idea. Perhaps some negotiations are in order."

The Rainbowbaby made odd 'gurbling' noises as if highly amused at what had happened.

Graham Maharg observed LabyrinthCity as the great big Havenlander skyship came into land, gracefully and quietly, at the growing LabyrinthCity Aerospaceport, not to be confused with its three airports linking it with other parts of the Known Lunar Labyrinth. It was beautiful, sleek, and dangerous. It carried thousands of people, other lifeforms, and goods.

The Havenlander Empress had given a message to the rest of the world, surprising it greatly, as a small fleet of ancient skyships were launched from the Havenlands, the Continent of Mist, to carry lifeforms and things from Terra to the KLL. In return the Havenlands were picking up exotic resources from the KLL and taking them to their homeland.

The arrival of the skyships had been no surprise to Graham Maharg, to any part of what was often called the Maharg Empire despite the inaccuracies of such a name. For the Mahargs Enterprise, another common name, had always been closely linked to the Havenlanders, even if in a secretive manner.

13 skyships were now active, all being large in size but nine were large, while three were three times larger than those nine and then there was one three times larger than those three. The Havenlanders were busy taking up many resources but had also started to do the processing for themselves and had helped to upgrade general Terran human processes of the same.

There was something going on in the Havenlands, that were only one third of the Continent of Mist, that showed that the Havenic Empire was concerned about the future. This was confirmed to the Mahargs when they learned that a large minority, of the folks brought from the Earth by skyships, were disguised Havenlanders. In this case the Havenic Imperial Court seemed reluctant to share, the reason why, even with the Mahargs.

They did reveal that they were not in control over what very ancient, alien, forces of the Continent of Mist were up to but that they were very closely linked to the AraAncients and their allies. Those entities were far far older than were the Havenlanders, far more mysterious, and far more alien relative to Terran humanity.

The Mahargs knew that once the ancestors, of the Havenlanders, had served the Lords of Mist but suddenly, a very long time ago, they had been freed of that service. Now the Lords of Mist were requesting the Havenlanders to return to that service, with some changes to their ancient contract that made Havenlanders semiautonomous in their service; in the ancient past they had been firmly bound to their service with no real independence. Why the changes had been made was something that even the Havenlanders did not know but they were pleased with them.

Everything that was happening, at least the major events, appeared to be part of a pattern flowing towards one finality, one climatic finish.

The big skyship, one of the smallest nine of the 13, was still massive to the view of the locals. The bigger three ones could not even land in the city, having to do so way out in open flatlands of the outskirts. The biggest one of all did not even come into the Lunar Labyrinth at all but unloaded everything, then picked up everything, on the Lunar Surface. Yet all of the skyships were graceful, and beautiful, that being the Havenlander way, though they were also dangerous military vessels.

Once some biovamps had come through an Airgate and had been killed by superbugs, then known by humans as runner-bugs. The biovamps had come through an Airgate. When supersoldier scouts got to go through that Airgate, along with Jack the biovire, they soon found a strange discovery in a harsh valley like area. The shuttlecraft was sleek, almost elegant in its gracefulness, and clearly very technologically advanced. It was marked with an English like language translated enough to read UNITED STATES OF EARTH; UNITED SPACE PROGRAM OF EARTH.

This time when others came to join them, Mulder and Fox was amongst them but so was Olivia, Astrid, Walter and Peter formerly of the Fringe Division of the FBI, both having ended.

Walter, the rejuvenating genius, had not lost any of his eccentricities. He sipped from a bottle of sodapop at times, when studying the shuttlecraft, while superbugs took turns licking sodapop off one of his empty left palm. He turned and spoke to Jack, Olivia, Peter and Astrid. "William Bell, and I, worked on a shuttlecraft program much like this once but budget cuts, and political narrow mindedness, caused a brilliant concept to be cancelled. That version there is more advanced than our machine would have been. I suspect it would be from an Alternate Earth and be a further development-refinement of a machine more like the one we would have developed. Still, it could also mean that this USE Earth is far more advanced than ours just as that other Alternate Earth was more advanced than ours."

Supersoldiers investigated closer to the machine, finding no threat and an open hatchway. The craft was fairly large but both its cockpit and cabin were fairly cramped. The metasupersoldiers quickly made sure the interior of the craft was safe before the others carefully entered in armoured hazmat suits. Professor Walter Bishop soon found the prototype technologies in the cabin that he soon analysed as being experimental teleportation technologies. Again the appearance of biovamps could be taken back to movements through transdimensions though this machine had come from an Alternate Earth.

Plans were made at once to take the shuttlecraft back to where the UNPSIA could carefully study it.

The United Nations Special Lunar Research Development Agency, the UNSLRDA, was an organisation created to analyse a wide range of machines brought to it from the strange 'museum' in the UNPSIA Airport Base and from other sources. This did not include anything from the museum's special sealed off area, of twisted things, for the UNSLRDA did not even know that existed; nor would they have been given access if they had known.

The UNSLRDA was quickly taken over by a clique of highly intelligent, eccentric, individuals. They wished very much to expand the power, resources and influence of their agency even if it was at the cost of other UN Agencies such as the UNPSIA. Their first demand, the first of many to be quickly and effectively repelled, was that the UNSLRDA absorb the UNPSIA. The second one soon after that one was also easily repulsed and that was that the UNSLRDA be given the Airport Base as its own. The UNPSIA Command soon realised that the demands were more of a test than they were real claims.

The UNMSIA got similar demands launched at it as did the Maharg Empire and others. The UNSLRDA High Council became silenced only when the UN sent a special envoy to do so.

It was hardly a surprise that the enterprise was a product of internal United Nations politics and international political pressures. That it had links to the Big13 was also no surprise, especially as the Big13 had provided the UNMSIA with about a third of its funding and hoped to get plenty in exchange from that large investment.

One 51.1[83]{83}

A great big chunky shuttleship arrived from the home world and out from it poured an army of soldiers and those who would support them. The United World Government had launched an invasion of the LL Colony that was mostly loyal to the United Nations Government and Assembly. Fighting broke out on the Lunar Surface but the invasion taskforce failed to get into the LL thanks to prior warnings to the UNG Forces on-in the Moon.

Plans to isolate the LL, from the home world, failed because large Waygates became fully active both on Terra and in the Known Lunar Labyrinth. One was in what had become known as Tarrytropolis, another in Bigtropolis and yet another in LabyrinthCity but there were two others. Ocean going ships could go through one at Jungletropolis and sail through a Waygateway to get to a great LL fresh water sea. Ships, anything on-in them, were rejuvenated and made safe by the ancient AraTechnologies. So the Exodus really began, at its height, from Terra to Luna and bypassed the UWG Taskforce attempt at some kind of blockade.

The home world began to get rid of those it could not care for any longer, unwanted minorities, the aging, the handicapped, the terminally sick and many more. Despite some protest at such practises, most saw that the world could no longer sustain so many people let alone so many needy people. A great deal of damaged, old, resources was sent for it was rejuvenated by the time it got to the LL where it was sorted to be at least semi-useful.

Ships began to do return trips and to take exotic resources from the LL to Earth but most just went back empty to grab up more people and stuff.

Streams of 20mm calibre shells ripped through the airless vacuum of the Lunar Surface, striking at chunky enemy dropships coming down in fast zigzag patterns from a very large frame-shuttleship overhead. It bristled with weapons, was armoured, but was clearly a hastily put together jury rigged machine assembled in Terran Low Orbit. Down from it came missiles, rockets and autocannon shells with great deadliness with the lack of resistance by atmosphere or heavier gravity.

It was a silent, largely dark, battle that looked eerie and which was deadly as ripped open vessels, buildings and armoured suits exposed people to vacuum. Those inside vehicles, and structures, wore protective suits designed against asphyxiation in vacuum.

The UWG Confederation dropships were landing away from where newly named UNG Federation forces were dug in, had many heavily fortified bunkers and other structures. Why heavy weapons had been used, both sides had already agreed that no civilians would be aimed at and that no nuclear weapons would be in the warzone, let alone used.

Infantry in power space armour moved cautiously across the broken Lunar Landscape. Some new type energy weapons were being used, mostly by the UN fighters, but these new devices proved to be troublesome, to use, at times.

A dropship exploded straight into a large outcrop of rock that could never had stood in the higher gravity and other conditions of Terra. The ancient outcrop fragmented, was gone, having survived successfully for an extremely long time.

It was at that moment that a big Havenlander skyship appeared suddenly, halting with amazing abruptness from great speed, and forced the big enemy frame-ship to surrender. It did this with a display of massive pulsebeams shooting through space.

Despite being one of the nine, of the 13, it still dwarfed the frame-shuttleship easily. It also made the frame-shuttleship look both ungainly and ugly in comparison.

Soon all enemy forces, in that area, were surrendering.

The theory, of the Havenlanders having such advanced fire power, had been around for centuries but many Terran humans had been sceptical. Even the appearance of the skyships, and other clues, had been ignored by many. Now it was something that could not be ignored and the implications were many.

One 52.1[84]{84}

Even as biozay infiltrators began a guerrilla war, in the Known Lunar Labyrinth, against the newly formed United Nations Lunar Labyrinth Government, on the home world began a world war between the UNG Federation and the UWG Confederation, as they had become known.

Some months had passed and a peacefulness had come to the KLL except for a series of skirmishes between 'loyalist' and 'rebel' forces to the UNG. It became known that the Big13 had managed to set up four smaller colonies in secret, they declaring themselves to be loyal to the UWG, but they did not have the power to threaten the far larger colony. People had kept coming from the home world but the KLL had not expanded because of the influx but areas had become more populated. It was easier that way with such areas already having at least basic infrastructure to build on.

The new UNPSIA Command Centre, at the place where the 100+ aeroplanes had appeared, was a bustling hive of activity. Lately robots had become more commonly used in the LL and there were also plasticants there of green, yellow and orange. Supersoldiers stood on sentry duty along with UNPSIA Troopers in upgraded exopower armour, now being whole suits.

Walter was looking at a big 3Dwallscreen in fascination. It was showing how big commercial jet aircraft had been successfully turned into spaceships called 'spacejets' for convenience. The already airtight ability of the machines, the thick hulls, the sturdy wings upon which more hardware could be placed, made them surprisingly easy to adapt to use in vacuum. Of course they had to be adapted.

The 3Dimage showed an adapted jet-airliner taking off from the Lunar Surface with its added rockets easily boosting it into zero gravity space from the low gravity Lunar Surface. "Amazing, most amazing. Who would have thought such a thing would happen. I love the way that hard-points have been used on the wings."

Captain Armstrong stood beside him, being also impressed but more concerned about other matters. "You worked with William Bell on many projects?"

Walter lost his smile. "Yes, many of them that now shame me; I was a very different person then and a poor human being. I suspect you mean our attempts to open transdimensional gateways that led to the crisis between two Alternate Universes."

Armstrong responded. "No, I mean Project Jump A Long."

Walter shivered. "I hoped that none would know of that. Bell, and I, did our very best to clean up that horrible mess with the help of US Black Ops Forces. The XFiles people assisted us. That was when Dogget became a biovire. William Bell was always obsessed with reaching across the transdimensions to new realms, even if it was just to spy upon them."

After a noticeable pause he went on speaking. "It was at that time that I began to realise that William Bell was a very cold hearted, selfish, person whose drive to gain knowledge was something that he put ahead of everything else. When those poor, twisted, undead horrors came through the prototype gateway, his only real concern was to subdue them and test them to gain more data. He had no concern for their suffering or the suffering that they caused others. Despite his wishes the horrors, who once had been monkeys, were destroyed and put out of their misery, by the Black Ops soldiers who were much like the supersoldiers here."

Anderson nodded. "Those were first generation supersoldiers, of the same kind as these. Question is, was William Bell just after achieving success for that one project or did he have some longer term goal in mind. Also, was he working with others that you did not know of? Intensive investigations, and research, have come to a hypothesis that a series of such projects were carried out not to be successful in their own right but to link together to create a 'greater effect'.

Walter sighed. "What are you really, Captain Armstrong?"

Captain Armstrong smiled. "A human avatar of the True Eternal Guardian of the Ways. We helped to solve your problems with the two Alternate Universes and to remove the Observers from timespace."

Walter looked puzzled for a moment and then nodded. "Yes, those damned Observers from a doomed future that was erased so that they were erased. It is hard to remember them. If you helped deal with them, then I am grateful. That one Observer did so much to help. Was he an avatar of some kind?"

Armstrong shook his head. "No, he was a very heroic soul who has gained much in compensation for his sacrifice. There is only so much we can do, will do, when it comes to mortal affairs."

One 52.3[86]{86}

Walter changed subject. "What greater goal could 'they' have been seeking?"

Armstrong frowned. "A weakening of transdimensional barriers between certain dimensions, a weakening that would be taking advantage of a slowly repairing weaknesses left over from the Horror Wars; it was a terrible war fought between an alliance of GrandAncients, their allies, and a rough coalition of treacherous GrandAncients and other forces. It is no coincidence that the events are focused here in this timespace for it was vastly long time ago, long before even the local sun existed, that the War of Horrors was focused on this relative point of existence. The GrandAncient Alliance won, but at great cost, casting many of the most powerful, and twisted, of their enemies into the dreaded Nullvoid. We fear that attempts are being made to bring those entities out of exile, to release them upon this universe."

It became clear that Armstrong had much information to pass to the UNPSIA but just how much could he, would he, give over to the 'mortals'.

True Eternals were far from being of the same nature as humans or any mortals beings. Though they could, and did, create avatar extensions as mortals, immortals, or others, at their core they were truly alien. The true nature of the True Eternals, their purpose or even if they had one, was a mysterious even to the GrandAncients. What was known was that the True Eternals spoke of being 'older than time' and of 'having existed before existence did'.

The RainbowBaby, the RainbowGuardian, had their own deep mysteries but of a very different kind.

The same could be said for others, such as the Shadowman, the Mahargs, the Lords of Mist and others involved in what was taking place or who would soon enough become involved, even if indirectly so.

The sounds of heavy machinegun fire, of autocannons blasting away, of explosions of grenades, and more could be heard in the area of thornplant covered hills.

A large refugee convoy, protected by newly formed UNLL Guardsmen units, staid halted as enemy mercenaries, many of them being biozay-humans, attacked. The local hills became the sanctuary for the refugees while the outnumbered, outgunned, Guardsmen tried to do the best that they could to stop any refugees from being taken; for that is what the guerrillas seemed to be after along with any useful loot that they could gain. Perhaps they were after new possible host bodies for not all humans could be hosts.

Ironically enough biozay had discovered that they worked best with humans if they tried to be less dominating and tried the carrot-stick approach. Even then many became, in practice, more like biovires than biozay-humans.

The enemy began to close in on the big refugee vehicles, rough country bus-trucks and almost identical trucks and victory seemed to be at hand for them. Which was when the sides of the trucks collapsed down to reveal hidden autocannons, small cannons and launchers. UNMSIA Troopers poured out of other trucks, in exopower armour, striking with battlerifles and other powerful weapons designed to be used with exopower armour.

Fighting was brutal but, taken completely by surprise, the ambushers were soon surrendering. Those who tried to fight on, or to escape, were quickly gunned down.

The fight was over in a very short time!

The big tall man, with a patch covering one eye, stood in UNMSIA Trooper fatigues and body-armour as he carefully examined the counter ambush that he had himself planned. A traitor had been found, in the UNLLG, and had been fed false information to pass on to others; then the traitor had been tried and was on death row awaiting appeals.

Marshal Abdul Abdula, alias Marshal One Eye Abdula, was satisfied with the results of the mission but knew that the guerrillas would soon learn what had happened thanks to traitors inside the UN organisations in the LL. This was despite that man of them were quickly being tracked down and dealt with. While the Exodus Colonisation Program was spread out, over a wide area, and protective resources were spread thin, the enemy could pick and choose where to attack. The enemy had to be tracked down and dealt with at their home bases.

Supersoldiers, escorted by eager superbugs, and with metadogs assisting, moved fast as platoons across the broken Known Lunar Labyrinth landscape. That is for smaller squads of scouts and other specialists. Small robot drones darted through the air, sometimes halting to check areas.

They were doing a sweep against many kinds of threats but the sweep was also to gain valuable information, to rescue those who needed rescuing and to carry out other valuable tasks.

They had destroyed nest of biovires, had saved survivalists but forced them to leave the area, had forced biozay-humans to surrender along with others and had data charted areas they had moved across.

They moved through ancient, exotic, ruins far younger than the AraAncient structures and far more destructible yet both advanced and impressive. They had discovered the remains of at least one civilisation and the exciting discovery was soon being passed onto others.

Then they discovered a great, sweeping, city that was gracefully beautiful in a most alien, exotic, fashion with many structures having no easily discernible purpose to them. There were other amazing finds to be made, in that city, but much was soon to prove to be quite disturbing.

The whole area was soon declared to be a forbidden zone to all but a relative very few who would be given permission to enter it. A great effort would be made to seal it off from the unauthorised.
