@phantompally76: I already said SMIM will always remain free on the Nexus. If I charge on SW, that doesn’t impact Nexus.

@hfontanez: yeah, it is funny how quick we will drop $5 or $10 on fast food/coffee/beer for ourselves, but suddenly pause at $2-4 for a significant mod or something.

@digitaltrucker: my understanding is I still retain full control over the mod itself, meaning I can put it on Nexus for free without an issue. All that I lose is the ability to remove it from Steam Workshop since that would injure someone who has already paid for it. That makes perfect business sense.

I see no reason why you shouldn't get paid for work you did.

Anyone who believes otherwise is the 'greedy one'; they want you to work for free so THEY can profit (by having a better experience).

I firmly believe if people can monetize their hobbies they should. What better 'job' than doing something you love.

((What, did you all think Microsoft was planned? f*#@ no. It was a hobby.))

excuse me, but i cant remember that i forced them to mod. and work = money is bullshit. as i said i have hobbies too where i have to do work. why dont i get money for it? cuz its a hobby, not a job.

they mod because they decided to mod, not because I or someone else forced them to mod.

Free modding has been permitted, it has been allowed, period. Bethesda made a speculation and the release of their CK's was permitted. They have allowed free modding. To them it has become a cash crop and it is harvest time. The selling of privately made mods is going to become a multimillion cash for product business. It is going to be heavily one sided and controlled. At this time, it is unfortunate Bethesda is still going through Steam. Steam is nefarious, proven by cash refund policies alone. Steam wallet... wtf... that's a "there's a sucker born every minute" stance. They won't see any business from me. Actually, not long after the last Skyrim update I isolated my rig from the Internet considering the forced update procedures of Steam. Even back then Steam made me feel I needed to protect my gaming file structures from forced update or even possible lockouts due to forced patching. I am perfectly content never having to participate in Steam anything ever again. It is here, it is a whole new game. Try not to get any nefarious on your shoes or in your modded games.

Looking down the road, I do hope to see the Dark0ne at the helm of this wondrous and incredible place. Where I can come and download awesome content for Oblivion and Skyrim for free.

See yah on the other side, hehe
