Farvat
As this initiative comes late because Skyrim is a game old, it is obvious that these are the dress rehearsal for what will happen with TES VI. Bethesda is attempting to exploit the modding to the end. The only possible response is boycotting this initiative. The only weapon that has the consumer's purchasing power. And this weapon is used precisely, refraining from purchasing. For me modders can do anything they want, but those who sell, betray the scocialist spirit of modding, and users have every right to protest and say their opinion. The best way to hit the modders who make the decision to sell, not buy their content, and let them starve. If we do not fight this initiative, the modding will die, to shatter between paid content and piracy.Instead of implementing repressive policies, Nexus would rather well to foment rebellion. the nexus of leadership instead of preccuparsi to block images with content ridiculously prohibited, should instead learn to do politics, taking the fact of having free content, a flag. Instead of banning people from the comunity, learn to protect this comunity, you have everything to gain.Anyone who buys a mod also shows very little intelligence. What is the point of paying for content, they have no guarantee of work and that can hurt your game. This is always amateur products. That a once sold can be abandoned in half, without it being minimally guaranteed support of correcting problems in the course of time. Moreover, these have insane prices, $ 2 for armor? But there are whole games that cost $ 5.Valve sells mod in the same way, how sells dlc.

VoodooMcGee
Good thing Dimon99 never charged for his body mods, half the mods on this site would not even exist if it was not for his contributions. If his mod was pay would eveyone who made clothing or armor mods have to pay him for using his work? The only people going to make money here is lawyers arguing whos intelectual property it is. Just my two cents

Especially considering the huge cut they will be getting from the stolen mod. This whole idea of paid mods reeks of greed on the part of Valve/Beth.And i don't really blame any mod author who want's to get paid for all their work either.Imagine you are the SkyUI team, sitting there with your free mod that has literally millions of downloads. But some guy who opened up nifskope and rehashed some vanilla armors into something 'new' is charging $4 for his mod. If you were SkyUI, wouldn't you be a little annoyed that you are NOT making money?

Marthenil
I'm also really curious if EU laws apply in such case, I can see quite a few problems with it. It comes inherently with modding, but paid content is entirely different.
Pops53
Well, as Dark0ne says, the first shots have been fired over paid mods over in the Steam Skyrim Workshop. It hasn't been pretty. As a Skyrim mod user, I am disappointed that it has happened so quickly, but I guess it was inevitable. I hope, as this goes forward, that everyone stays civil and debates the issue and not the people, because it is the people who have made the mods and changed Skyrim for the better.
