Steam Service Providers, and some how needing to clarify the Nexus stance again

I have been following this thread now for a few hours and before i leave, I'd like to express my opinion, if I may. I can't help but think that perhaps Valve has done the modding community a favour The Nexus community in particular.

It is becoming increasingly evident that the community is having a rough time sticking together and apparently there seems to be a very clear line of division between the members who truly support the contributions of the modders as well as the people who make it possible for the modders to share... and the spoiled ingrates who are revealing themselves over the issue. I am inclined to suggest that perhaps sticking together may not be ideal for the latter. Perhaps it would be best if those who object to the modders, or the administrators of the site's choices in the matter, simply leave. Nobody is going to try to force them to stay, and to them, I have only this to say. Good riddance!

Ahh, and who are *they* to demand that something we have always done for fun and the challenge of bending a thing into new shapes purely for amusement somehow now merits being called "work" and deserving of compensation? Funny how everyone was okay right up until corporate money was on the table. Those who wanted to mod did so, those who had to think about their financial situation, or had just moved on with their lives without modding had done so...only to come running back because Valve flashed some dosh under their noses.

This is a two-edged sword, friend. I reiterate: If the game no long has a place in your life until some sprinkles money on it: You. Are. Doing. It. Wrong. If you genuinely think you're going to put food on the table making mods you're crazy. Double-crazy if you think you "deserve" it.

you know they used to use the same argument about a few other things in the past...what were they...oh yess Movies, Movies are just a hoppy get a real job! oh and Video Games honestly if Bethesesda Developers arent making Skyrim for the love of gaming they are DOING IT WRONG by your own logic

Yes my wife and I are very happy. It is well known that I am a lesbian. I have never hid from that here or anywhere. Do you have something against the gay and lesbian community?

No problem at all, I have gay and lesbian friends, and, as I said in my post.
[i'm glad that you and your wife, and two kids, and your paid for house are happy.]

Now, you've definitely got some MAJOR reading comprehension problems if you are somehow getting that I have a problem with the LGBT community with my comment.

At this point, I'll just chalk it up to you either have some type of reading comprehension problem, or are just belligerent and looking to fight about EVERYTHING.

Anyway, I'm completely fed up with you, because you aren't even participating in the discussion anymore, and instead are acting like a belligerent party-goer who has had a few too many drinks, and wants to try and turn EVERYTHING into a fight

Your mistake is thinking that he can only be on ONE side of the issue, Either he's FOR paid mods or He's AGAINST them. When in reality he's neither, he's neutral because the paid mods aren't the deciding thing here.

He said he isn't a champion white-knight for free mods, and he said he isn't a money-hungry demon from hell. He just wants mods to be free and open when the mod creators want them to be. Why are you so goddamn narrow-sighted? If you read the post you would see you're exactly the kind of people he is talking about.

By the way, people disagreeing with you isn't "trolling". It's just you being unable to take f*#@ing criticism.

The main thing I want to know is mod author's releasing updated Versions of there mods on Workshop and making the Nexus users wait till the author puts the update on here to me isnt that breaking the rules of the Nexus with the Donation system?

*You should never, ever charge for access to any files, additional content or perks on the Nexus sites. This includes providing a file for free and then requiring users to donate to receive additional features, support or special perks. It is against the rules of this site to incentivise the donation system or ask users to donate to you for additional support or content.*

I agree the whole "Lesbian" thing is this.....person just trying to bait us into a fight and make it look as if we have issues with her ilk. Don't be fooled into any type of debate. I'm going to go play some Attila at any rate online, so peace to you all. I'm done with this nightmare of a woman and her continued inability to basically 'comprehend' that which has been made clear time and time again. Edited by Reaper0021

this is also a valid point, once money is involved a huge can of worms is opened, but to be fair when Video Games and Movies started they faced these same worms...and then their cporses were bloated by them but that is neither her nor there...the question is CAN the modding community learn from the mistakes of the past or traven down the same paved highway to hell

Then again it's a pretty catchy theme song on that highway and theirs money....

Yes, because making movies is just like being a modder. lol.

If you are seriously going to draw that comparison, we really have nothing more to talk about. By all means, try it out for yourself. I wish you the best and I'll do everything I can to protect open and free modding from the fallout.

Dark0ne has set the perfect tone for this. Go for it! But don't be surprised when your results don't live up to your expectations. :)
