Nexus chat

okay i don't if this been said or not, but the Nexus chat, really does sucks, i mean couldn't you guy have ran an ircd or chatsapce for your chat? I mean flash is easy to run and install for webpage, but other then that it really sucks, and i'm sure that most of us here do know how used irc. either way you go, would be better for this site.

I'm sure not only network owner/provider that would to love help here that also member to Nexus community

It'd be nice if you pointed out specific problems you've encountered. Saying 'it sucks' really doesn't help at all.

hmmm...you think it sucks and you think it uses Adobe Flash.

 

I don't think you are going to get very far with this thread.

 

Also, the current chat system is a paid-for addon and there simply is not a lot of "options" to it. So asking Dark0ne to make specific changes to it isn't going to go anywhere...it is not his code.

 

If you'd rather suggest other IP.Board chat modules, feel free to present them and explain what you like and don't like about each one.

 

Remember, change for the sake of change is not a valid argument. Going to a different system will have positive and negative effects and you need to be informed BEFORE making a change.

 

So, I'd recommend listing what you like and do not like about the current chat module (simply because that is what we have right now) and do the same for others (this obviously requires research and experimentation)

While there is an annoying error which prevents people from joining the chat, I don't think it happens regularly enough for it to be changed.

Chat software that is actually fixed when a support ticket is sent in would be nice. Yet again I can't access it.

I think that the Chat is perfect. The only thing that bugs me is the occasional " There is an error. Contact your Administrator" But after a refresh or two , you get in perfectly.

It's been a lot better recently AFAIK. Think they got overloaded and were slow to add new servers to their system. They told me there were new servers coming in the next week, and that was over a week ago.
