DoctorKaizeld
well you could just white-list everything and block on a ad by ad basis.
sunshinenbrick
It seems there is now someone with this job... but that is a good idea which could prove an interesting tactic, so long as I don't have to give up my own job to do it! :D
JimboUK
You should have an option to continue blocking all ads, the reason for the change is the creator has sold adblock to some third party.

Yeah I saw that. I was just wondering about the selective approval of ads, how are they chosen and how may this impact the advertising industry and free internet sites as a whole. The point is that it maybe not the type of advertising that is necessarily targeted but rather which companies are 'allowed' to advertise.
HeyYou
The folks that are willing to pony up the dollars to have their ads unblocked are the ones that are approved.

I wonder then if such a filter could instead be based on how intrusive or befitting the ad is?
soupdragon1234
It's a trap! You forgot your obligatory Admiral Ackbar avatar. Here you go: You should have an option to continue blocking all ads, the reason for the change is the creator has sold adblock to some third party. Why are people still using AdBlock plus anyhow? There are others out there without being the memory leech that AB+ is. I started using them as I was getting too many drive-by infections from sites including a compromised google ad server linked from this site. However I will say In my defence that I do have 5 mods hosted on Nexus so that does assuage my conscience somewhat. :ermm:

Regarding drive-by downloads and phishing ads, this is why I was wondering about how to best target which ads/affiliates we want to support while blocking malicious attacks and/or ads we do not support.
