Warmaker01
Witcher 3 is a fabulously crafted, beautiful game if your rig can run it well enough. How the devs pieced the world together aesthetically is brilliant. But it's a totally different RPG. It's much more strictly defined. - You are Geralt. Nobody else. - The game while letting you run around freely, it's actually very restrictive. Open your world map and you cannot find a point and make your way there at any time, regardless of where you are in story progression. I'm not talking Fast Traveling, I'm talking about fighting or manually traveling your way to some interesting point. The game blocks you until you've hit wickets in the story line. Witcher 3 and TES/FO3+ are very different RPGs. One has a very specific storyline that you MUST follow to get anything done. The others put you in a game world and say, "Go" and you can ignore the core story line altogether and not be robbed of experiencing the game. Boombro
Just to be clear, I did not say the game was bad.I simply believe it is by and large being overestimated and given a free pass for a lot of things. There are reviews out there giving the game 9/10 and 10/10 while mentioning the game will get modded heavily. I personally think a game should be reviewed AS IS, out of the box. Vanilla. And like I said, they get free passes. "Bugs are normal for a Bethesda RPG" is a ridiculous thing to say. It is a full fledged triple A title and it should be polished as such. I've seen a lot of people mention they finished the game and barely ran into any bugs. I find that exceedingly difficult to believe. I personally run into bugs on such a steady basis it's not a question of "If" so much as "when".You didn't say it. Don't worry, you won't will hardly get attacks because of criticism. They did, fallout 4 is a large game of it kind and I know many new comers who were blown away. For the bugs pass, it is true. Beth games are an open world rpg titles that are very complex compared to many other games. A bug free beth game is like saying there will never be poverty. Many been have grown so custom to them, they think glitches are part of features and many don't even want some to be removed in the next patch. And it is the most lest buggy and most stable title so far since morrowind and the only one of these to have a bug testing stage.
Enubis
Well, to be fair, It's at least a decent game on my part. I have my gripes about it, I feel that a lot else could be done.I don't so much have an issue with the bugs/glitches and graphical side of things, mostly due to the fact I know that it's how it is. Not just because it's a Bethesda game, but it is a huge, very very huge open world game wherealmost anything can happen. With so many interlocking possibilities and such, bugs and stuff will definitely surge. Polished, is pretty much ridiculously difficult to attain for an open world game to such a scale. My biggest gripe is how the settlement building feels tacked on, but also how the game feels dumbed down on a lot of factors. Conversation being one, and I believe it is due to the fact the protagonist has a voice now. The main story feels underwhelming and forced, to the point I have no interest in any of the main factions, heck I sunk in 216 hours and I haven't even bloody completed the game. I personally have more fun running around alone, or with one companion and just trying to pretend to be a raider or something as a low level. Since after getting too high a level, I woulda killed too many raiders and clearedtoo many bases of enemies.
Holst
@KrazedKitten: You're talking money and Bethesda. Quite frankly I would pay a lot more for Beth games when they wanted so. Some Total war titles aside, no other games could keep me occupied for so long. To hear people complain when they've spend more than hundred hours on the game (even unmodded), it's a joke. Guest deleted27225789
I totally agree Fallout4 gets a pass and completely unrealistic near-perfect scores just because of some crazy fandom thing going on. The game has heaps to offer but too much weird s#*! going on to give it such praise. Why so many user created mods so quickly.... shouldn't Bethesda have gotten most of it right the first time? It's what we pay for yeah? Pay a premium price to a company (who will gouge you for more) for a broken product which will get fixed for free by the same suckers paying for it in the first place! Is this real life?!?!? I remember getting chills thinking about how amazing this game was going to be watching the live E3 coverage. It is definitely fun and entertaining but far from what they hyped it to be. Hopefully one day we'll see a truly unbelievable Fallout arrive. KiCHo666
Didn't had much time to play it. I only did 30 or so hours, but, except for 1 freeze and framedrops, I'm yet to experience a single bug that would require me to reload a game. Compared to FO3/NV/Skyrim at the release, this is by far, the least buggy Bethesda game. (yes I know NV is not Beth's game, but the engine is the same).Personal experience. :)
TeamBacon
I very strongly disagree with everything said in the original post, especially the part about modders fixing Bethesda's mess and the game being a just a bad PC port of a console game. I look forward to making mods because it is fun, I don't plan on downloading mods to fix anything. Fallout 4 is a great game without any mods, and it is fairly clear to me that Bethesda attempted to balance between consoles and PC like any good business would do, since they are both very valuable markets. I don't want to get into any debates with anyone, so I usually don't say much on websites like this, but at some point the people who think this game is great need to stand up and say something when the vocal minority who want to bad mouth Bethesda start making a fuss. But that is all I have to say on the subject, because I don't want to debate. Overall Bethesda gets a 10 out of 10 from me.
FishBiter
Blatantly untrue. I've been playing the game in a vanilla state and it is fantastic. As far as I'm concerned, at this point the game has already earned the value that I paid for it as well as the season pass. There is no mess for modders to clean up - 95 hours in and I've barely encountered any bugs, the ones I have encountered were minor inconveniences at best, and the game is just plain fun. Don't worry, there will be plenty of people talking with their wallet.. they'll just be saying the opposite thing from what you're saying.
His0ka
comparing fallout 4 with mineshit is the biggest insult of the original post...i like to puke now... minecraft only costs 27$ ....ONLY wtf i wouldnt pay 5€ for it. modders derserve everything he said but the other text is bullshit. vanilla game is great and worth every penny...its far away from something called a "mess"
bigperk420
I had like, 20-30 mods installed a few days after release, and I have ~=120 right now (granted, it's like 40 graphics substitutions/texture opti'd but there's been a non-stop fire-hose gusher of mods which help fo4 literally right out of the gate.
