BadReplicant
I'd like to hear other people's ideas for Boston's factions. Either new or what the existing factions could have been. Should the minutemen have mistakenly wore redcoats? obviously, wait, why did they name themselves the minutemen again? Are they a militia? Against what army? Should they had been direct opposition to the overreaching BoS? Where is the "tyranny" for them to rise against? There seem to be some similarities to the real life minutemen, but why don't they defend settlements? They just send you to do it every time. They don't really do anything, just endlessly hammer on walls and listen to the fiddle. Well, I over did it with the questions, but really I want to hear your thoughts. SayinNuthin
New fraction? Pirates. Shore raiding marine raiders. The strategy would be plausible for the game (assuming someone can make boats 'work'). Being marine-mobile means your pirates/corsairs/vikings can chose their own battles and are pretty invulnerable to everyone except the airborne BoS and there don't seem to be any marine equivalents of Deathclaws, Yao Guai or Red-scorpions... Massachusetts has the 10th largest coastline in the USA at 192miles. "Thems rich pickings me hearties, arr!"
Moraelin
Well, a somewhat easy-ish faction, in the sense that it doesn't need modifying any core mechanics, would be a chapter of the east coast Regulators. It could work basically half-way like the Regulators in FO3, in that they give you some caps for each bad guy finger (though probably best if only for NAMED baddies, IMHO), and half-way like the New Vegas Bounties, in that they actually spawn some named strong bad guy/gal for you to take down and give you a short story as to what did he/she do to deserve death. Basically make some named raiders or gunners that are less generic, and more like someone you know why you want to kill. Or at least exactly why someone else wants you to kill him/her. Another idea that personally I'd find interesting, and I'm guessing other people, given how many complain that they can't be the sole ruler of the commonwealth, would be having another go at establishing the CPG, under your own leadership. You could have lots of missions of several types, ranging from getting existing settlements to cooperate (e.g., Diamond City or Goodneighbour), to hiring mercenaries (they probably don't want to be all shot in the head by a courser AGAIN), to negotiating support from those travelling merchants, to establishing some defended inns or warehouses or post office or whatever in your settlements on the way (think: like establishing Mercer Safehouse), to maybe negotiating (the charismatic or the bullet-in-the-head way) with some Gunner leader to leave them alone, to repeatable radiant quests of the "kill all raiders in Corvega Factory because they harass our couriers" kind. LordTonyZ
Actually i got a better idea. I'm sure someone would love to mod this. It's inspired from the Alternate start mod in Fallout 3 allowing you to become a raider. How cool would it be if instead of creating friendly settlements I could create raider camps? Be a leader of my own raider faction. Whomever is the enemy to raiders is an enemy to me now. So this leaves my base to get attacked by gunners, The Forged, BoS, institute, minutemen, etc.

jcdenton2012
One of the quests I plans for creating for my project once the geck gets released is an assassination of a raider who thinks himself santa clause.
Pthalo
Corvega at least have a pretty good start on being a solid raider group. More like a tribe than a faction maybe.
LittleboBLEEP
I thought it would be kind of cool to see post-apocalyptic remnants of the Dunwich corp. Except, now a days they're not really shy about their cult like activities. There isn't much lore around the Dunwich established in the fallout universe. It's really just a nod to Lovecraft. So, why not expand upon that?
Moraelin
Well, if we're talking cults, I'd love to find Innsmouth and their EOD chapter. I hear pretty good things about their swimming team ;)
