BadReplicant
Half the time I compare this game to previous games and say it's lacking, someone jumps in saying that the mods are why the previous games are better, disregarding if I'm only talking about the initial release of each game. Someone also likes to jump in and tell me not to compare it to FNV since they were different devs. So I've stopped comparing it to FNV even though I think Obsidian did a very impressive job in such a short time and some features should have carried over to FO4. *I edited this comment to make more sense during sobriety, still seems a bit out of place* Here's a little nonsense to warrant Kimberj's response: I have a feeling the pink ranger was pregnant the whole time and that's why her stupid pterodactyl dinozord would make a perfect addition to the cast. Wood sorrel is indeed a sour tasting plant, but I find it pleasant. Edited December 23, 2015 by BadReplicant
KimberJ
I saw confirmation that Deckard was indeed a replicant. (time to read the 1968 P.K.D. novel) That's maybe the only recent thing I can think of that is more f***ed up than what you just said. But my opinions of the mainstream Fallout players are not all that high at times. In my experience 6 years ago, most people hated FO3 an FNV or hated on it. Skyrim Players/Modders an the console market put in the mix should water it down though, hopefully.
jcdenton2012
Gotta be honest here. People like me... are probably going to be in high demand when the Fallout 4 GECK get's released, and by that... I mean unlike ever before. Worldcell designers have always been something of a novelty, but for Fallout 4... it's looking like we'll be necessities for once. It has to do with the settlement system flooding the map with lots of small, kind of useless, clutter farms 'safe zones' with ballistic fire support. On paper that sounds good, but in practice it greatly limits whatever cleverly scripted events can be created on the exterior map for quest mods. Pretty much, to add content to this game we'll need to add more exterior maps or be limited mostly to interiors.
KimberJ
I somewhat disagree, but only because I'm an oddball. FO3 for example was 10 square miles in the main map that only used 2 square miles, an that's not counting the vast amount of space in the sky for example on top of buildings an other platform based game design. Even the downtown area, was completely empty, around 30 cells of unpainted land due to technological limits. Supporting this is the vast amount of empty space in FNV, cause lets face it, it was just FO3 modified. I only mention it from what you enjoy doing, world design. In that at least an in the past. There is this large call to make new worldspace, an in many cases it's just too much work for people. We shouldn't forget that world design is the existing interior an exterior as well. Which includes the decoration an flavor of the most basic functions of our CK/CS/GECK. You're talking about the massive version of that, LOL. I just wanted to say you could still do little stuff along the way to make it fun. With that in mind I'm pretty sure that Boston's hightmap is the same size as Skyrim's. Just gota hope that the game unit wasn't changed again, which could mean a vast amount of space in the .esm an if I remember was something like -100,-100 x 100,100 displayed filtered in xEdit, where FNV was maybe -65,-65 x 65, 65 an I don't remember FO3, but both used different game units in the big change. Though all filtered so not really showing cell coordinates, it's just bitter fookin excitement for the GECK launch. XD
KimberJ
http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac156/grindedstone/NewLibrary/FalloutNV%202015-09-15%2022-23-44-541.jpg I seriously doubt that anyone that would think a comparison between FNV an FO4 would be a bad thing, ever drove the more offroad/horsepower version of XRE cars to deliver moonshine from Goodsprings for caps. Among many other things. Technically speaking, FNV is much greater than FO4, such is the case with any recently released game compared to a previous version to which has now been modified for many years... sherameyn
COME ON! Don't tell me you don't know that you can send the f*#@ing Lu Family to a far off and lone settlement?Ok, I admit, I just tried it in my second playthrough, because I wanted them to be gone from the start. The only one that always remains is that dumbheadwhosenameIforgotbecauseheissuchanutterlyimportantNPCfortheend
Moraelin
I just haven't tried, to be honest, since only Marcy really annoys me and I find it funnier to make her sleep under the bridge :p
Talwyn224
I didn't bother sending the Lu family away from Sanctuary, rather I skipped town as soon as I took over Covenant. Marcy definitely wins the most aggravating NPC of the game but beyond that, it's the constant hammering that drove me nuts and made me abandon Sanctuary. Besides, Covenant is probably the nicest settlement you can live at despite its design flaws [where are the bathrooms ffs?] The place I'd really like to take over is Cabot House! Now that is by far THE best house in the entire game. @ Moraelin - I like your "punishment" for Marcy. She's a troll and she belongs under the bridge. Moraelin
The castle is also a pretty nice place to live, since after Old Guns, it has literally all workbenches. So you don't really need to build any. And it has a pre-built shop too. Lowest level one, but eh, it still makes some caps and needs no initial investment. Bunker Hill ain't bad, either. Very limited space, but it has walls, and you need very few turrets to turn the gate into a killing zone. And lots of traders to offload your loot to. Before that, Red Rocket is actually pretty good, since it has pre-built workbenches. No need to cross the *ahem* troll bridge to swap receivers or whatnot. In fact, all the guards in Red Rocket are under strict orders that if they see someone looking like that coming from Sanctuary Hill, she's to get shot in the face. By Ron Jeremy ;) (Ok, so she MAY have motivated me to take settler renaming one step beyond the frayed edges of sanity;)) I feel like Abernathy Deserves an honourable mention too, because of the lots of space and the CAT. I luvs Maizie. And since it comes with some settlers and crops already, any new ones can go straight to gathering materials for a while. Downside, lacks armour and weapon workbenches IIRC. Low level enemies too, and not much places where attackers can get stuck, so it's pretty trivial to hang on to. And you can annex them even without Minutemen quests, for those who dislike meeting Preston at all. Or as non-owned settlements go, Diamond City market is fantastic for pre-existing workshops, and a lot of merchants to unload the loot to. No need to build any workbenches there or anything, just go, swap parts, repair, sell the loot as it is. And no attacks ever to ruin my peace and quiet. The downside, of course, is that since it's not owned, you can't build any NEW workbenches there (stupidly enough, not even in your home.) If you wanted to build, say, a weapons or armour manufacturing workbench, you can't. Mind you, other settlements are good too for other reasons. E.g., Graygarden is fantastic for sustaining other settlements, with robots that require no food or sleep or anything. But these are my personal favourites to use as my personal base. The place where I go to swap barrels and scopes on my weapons, without having to listen to a bunch of trolls.
Talwyn224
I like the Castle as well however the constant public broadcast of Radio Freedom is what drove me away from there  I even replaced the music with a mod but even then, with only 11 songs on a constant loop soon wears thin. I baulked at having to fork out a load of caps just to buy a house in Diamond City plus I didn't fancy the prospect of living with a bunch of paranoid mooks which is what most of the people of Diamond City are. The other nice spot is that Lighthouse that's occupied by the Children of Atom freaks. You can build quite a nice place there just for yourself and then you can sing this little song which really fits for Fallout IMHO: I Want To Marry A Lighthouse Keeper Btw I'd love it if when you completed certain quests or captured areas that new songs [that are specifically themed to what you've just done] would be added to DCR's playlist. It'd really make the game better if that could be perhaps modded into the game? edit: After listening to that classic little ditty, I think I might go and get into some longjohns, get a bowler hat and cane and start to terrorise the wasteland ala Clockwork Orange now
