Current state of fo4 mods

I have adult content turned on from back when I downloaded Skyrim mods. The body models were great, the realism of some of the body mods was great. However I have to agree with the OP, it just seems out of hand with Fallout4. I know these adult mods have a place, but that is all you see now. The top five featured mods are ALL tits, skimpy outfits, and ass. I am glad I do not depend on a video game to meet my sexual needs. Anyways, I hope a stream of useful mods are on the way... Corpse removal, more armors, more weapons, high resolution and detail textures, ENBs, realism and survival based stuff.

There is already a scrap dead things mod. There are also a lot of HR textures, and I'm pretty sure there is a fairly new survival mod. You must not be looking carefully enough. Most additional armors and weapons will need to wait for CK, though you should already know that.

If you don't like the magnitude of adult content on Nexus you could always just go to other mod sources like Bethesda's own site or Steam Workshop. Except they basically suck because they try to over control something that should be allowed to thrive openly like Nexus does.

The mods you mention are there, but some are not in a very workable form. For example, to have to use console commands for a mod to work is a work around. Some of the ways to scrap bodies and items causes issues with items disappearing that you want to stay. Many of the HR texture mods are not complete. I am sure in time these issues will be fixed with the proper modding tools.

But back on topic.... mature mods. If I ran the nexus I would just have more tags like "over 18" or "sexual content" and these mods would not be allowed on the featured page, or control the content and make the creators of the mod put up non adult pictures for showcasing on the featured page. They can have adult oriented pictures, but I think those should be visible only if you open the page of the mod. Once you click the mod there should be a popup saying mature content only continue if over 18.

I am approaching this from the point of view of a parent who uses these mods and has kids in the house or even as an admin of the site. Really, the popup when you click the mod stating "the content is adult" along with not allowing such vulgar or mature images on the featured or front page would solve these issues.

I'm approaching it from the view of someone who doesn't want to be paranoid about opening the Nexus webpage in case someone looks at my screen. If I'm trying to talk to my brother about mods, I don't want to have to go into my settings to carefully turn off mature content before I can even open Nexus. I can't imagine anything much more awkward than sitting with a screen of HD vaginas in front of family.

er personally, I don't see 'nude' as 'adult content' - we are ALL nude under our clothes, and honestly, It takes 'further thinking' to turn that into 'adult content'

I see no porn here, no animations of sexual intercourse, and nothing of that matter.

Honestly, you see yourself naked when you bathe, is THAT 'offensive' to you?

As has been stated multiple times, there is already an option to disable adult content. You could also make your default landing page, the New Recently page which doesn't show pictures, or Latest Files which shows small thumbnails. If none of those options work for you then either stick to other sites or donate enough money to Nexus to pay for coding in the specific controls you want.

Outright Censorship isn't the answer. There are tools put in place to filter based on taste. Hotfiles being an exception.

I think the best solution is that if a file makes HotFiles then no image is automatically selected and the Author has to assign an image to be viewed from the main page. It can be expressly stated that no image can contain direct focus on Genitalia. Nudity is fine so long as its not done in an obviously exploitative way.

I.E. Don't do a close up of a vagina because you want more people to view your mod.

That's just reasonable. I have no issues with frontal nudity. Male or Female. I'm not a prude or shy about nudity or sexuality. But I understand that some people are.

But again, exploiting imagery of genitalia should be discouraged. Nudity is fine.

i might have misunderstood what you meant but removing nudity using the filters does remove them from the hot files as well.

If it does then that's a super easy solution for most people.

I was under the impression that you saw them anyways. I turn adult content off and on frequently, but I've never seen that alter what mods show up in the hotfiles on the front page.

If I'm mistaken then I apologize for any misinformation.
