Minutemen vs Brotherhood

Moraelin: I am not sure since I am not a Preston hater, but I think the problem is with people that want to finish the game with no unfinished quests - ie a 'perfect' playthrough. But there is an easy exploit that allows that - when you turn in the latest quest to Preston, run like hell before he has a chance to give the next one.

That doesn't always work. I'd come to settlement and receive the damn quests without warning. And you can't say no, the game shoves them down your throat. I'm not a hater, but the way this quest giver is constructed is pretty awful.

They should change the the way the quests are given. Like where you can ask Preston if there are still settlements in need instead of him forcing them on you. I know it's just as easy to ignore the quests last objective and just never turn them in, but then you can't ever talk to Preston because that would trigger their completion.

First world problems =P

Hmm, well, I guess I should be thankful then that I'm a totally not perfect kind of guy. (Much as, I'm sure, it will come as a complete shock to everyone to learn that I'm not perfect and infallible after all;)) There'll always be something I've missed anyway.

The problem is, that they package that radiant quest garbage as "replayability", when it's not. It's shallow and stupid. That's why people are making fun of it, and making it into a meme.

Having a voiced protag meant that they needed to shove the player to only one way to end quests and only one way, to be in the budget because every divergent quest path would be more and more dollars down the drain, so they made the radiant quests where the voiced lines could be repeated, giving the illusion of a life-filled and vibrant world.

People aren't buying that bullshit.

Can't wait until we get some mods that allow more than response options in chat.

Hell, I'd be fine if they made the protagonist silent for those parts. It'd be like previous games. Not an ideal solution, but better than NOT making anything because you can't get it voiced.

I think the two factions could work well together.

As a Sentinel of the Brotherhood of Steel and General of the Minutemen you would essentially have the powers of a Brotherhood Elder, commanding the forces and resources of an entire region all from within the highest ranks of the Brotherhood. It would take time, but the Minutemen could be co-opted by the Brotherhood of Steel as allied forces or even auxiliary when required. Initiates could be drawn from the Minutemen ranks as needed, and the Minutemen could focus on protecting local interests whilst the Brotherhood would be allowed to comb the area for advanced technology.

This is essentially what has already happened in the Capital Wasteland, where the Brotherhood of Steel seems to work with local guard groups but is the otherwise the undisputed military power in the region and draws many of their recruits from the area. One can only imagine the level of relief that could be brought to the Commonwealth with the combined arms of the Minutemen and Brotherhood of Steel, especially if the Brotherhood can lend technical expertise where it did not violate their code to restrain advanced and dangerous technologies.

In the game itself, the Minutemen should only be hostile to the Brotherhood if you seek to complete the game with the Minutemen as victors, I think, but I have not tried investigating such outcomes greatly. This is largely so that, normally, players will have to wipe out 2 of the three established major factions when they end the game (barring one weird ending you can get that makes no sense). Going along the Brotherhood quest line, even if you do revive the Minutemen, there will be no instance where they will conflict as the Brotherhood focuses solely on the Institute and the Railroad.
