Thantic
Well late game is no problem for me. But when you're walking around lvl 90 the game becomes too easy. I'm just starting a new character and rad storms literally kill me sometimes. lol
jcdenton2012
My character has like 300 packs of radaway... the storms are laughable now.
DwellerBenthos
I never had a problem with rad storms even early game, just keep on truckin' and do what I was doing. You get a little radiation, but there's food to take it away (mutt chops? forget exactly) and of course, radaway. But, now, with ghoulish and solar powered, I could care less about high levels of radiation, much less what you get from storms.
mwhenry16
I love the smell of rad storms in the morning. I love knowing many synths, loathsome creatures, and mutants, which only a liberal would love, will die this day. The crackling and red band enlarging on my health bar bring a taste of sweetness to my lips.
Arnaeus
I love the smell of rad storms in the morning. Rad storm is stompy time! Yay! (Says the guy in lead coated power armor.) I love knowing many synths, loathsome creatures, and mutants, which only a liberal would love, will die this day. Most synths (1st/2nd generation) are machines, they don't care about radiation. Supermutants are immune. Most of these loathsome creatures too. Sorry. :ohmy:But you can stomp through that storm like a mighty angel of death and destroy them with your minigun. Edited January 13, 2016 by Arnaeus
Pthalo
Man I let my buddy play my copy of FO4 for like ten minutes and a radstorm hits. These are radstorms I got a mod for so they'd hit for like 25+ rads per bolt instead of 5. And what's he do when he sees those green clouds roll in? He goes and sleeps in a freakin' bed for 4 hours and NAPS PAST THE DANG STORM. I DON'T KNOW WHY IT DOESN'T KILL HIM FOR TRYING. No rad damage at all from it! Preposterous! I haven't tested if waiting in chairs also works but I'd be unsurprised if it did. Slightly less tedious than fast-travelling twice and a heck of a lot less awful than trying to zone on foot. Deleted3507349User
Yup, waiting in chairs bypasses it also. Don't ya just hate it when a friend does that sort of thing to you?
Bankstercide
I have 3 problems with Rad Storms: 1: There is no indication of what to do when we encounter one. There are no cues from NPC behaviour, nor any tutorial section about them. Remember, you're a Vault Dweller so you have no idea what one is, maybe your Companions could clue you in... 2: As mentioned above, the methods for avoiding them are equally immersion-breaking. Sitting, sleeping and fast travel make as little sense as simply shutting the doors and windows. 3: It begs the question of why anyone even bothers living above ground. Living in a house would be suicidal. Speaking of which, it would be kinda cool if Ghouls, Glowing mobs and Super Mutants had a higher spawn rate and were buffed inside a Rad Storm. TheVampireDante
Be fun to see, a bunch of ferals gathered in one place just sitting out in radstorm rain enjoying themselves.
tomomi1922
Theres a cave under Red Rocket you can use once its cleared of mole rats. There is a cave under Red Rocket? Really? How do you get there? I thought I checked the place out thoroughly and made quite some decoration with it. It's like my alone time away from Sanctuary nagging settlers. About rad storm, I would assume going under the roof I would receive less radiation? I tried it before, right in the middle of the rain I got rad+7, indoor I got Rad+3. RadX is always my answer, but putting on rad gear helps too. Too bad there is no Favorite hotkey for the entire outfit setup (just 1 item), but at least pulling up Pipboy will stop time and let you put on gear. And just ride it out I presume. In reality, having a roof doesn't really protect you from radiation either, you need to go to a radiation sealed room.
