woodsman30
The words are a little strong I think but I get the point. I have to believe Bethesda knew modders would change the game hence the CK 46,000 mods on the nexus alone not to mention all the other mod sites. Same as fallout 4 why kill yourself making a world class game when you can release it and let the modders do it for free pure genius. A properly modded Skyrim is a world class game even in today's gaming world My only complaint is the platform but even that can be fixed thanks to modders go figure. Terra Nova
I thought that game was alright out of the box, which is way more than I can say for Oblivion. There are A LOT more limitations on the modding side though, but people found creative ways around them.

LeddBate
I'm just hoping that FO4 is the last game Beth releases with their creaky old 32-bit engine.
Boombro
I'm just hoping that FO4 is the last game Beth releases with their creaky old 32-bit engine. That won't happening, CK is an amazing engine in the hands of unskilled hand. If the next major upgrade was in the hands of real code craftsmen, it take render the games in full glory. Terra Nova
I'm just hoping that FO4 is the last game Beth releases with their creaky old 32-bit engine.Already confirmed that the Creation Engine was to be used for two games after Skyrim. Who knows though, they could change their minds.  I thought that game was alright out of the box, which is way more than I can say for Oblivion. Oblivion made me cry blood.  I know right? At least in Skyrim, it takes a poorly designed mod to create a CTD. In Oblivion, it will CTD for no reason even with no mods or unofficial patches, and usually right after you get out of the sewer, as some introductory to CTDing in Oblivion tutorial. I really wanted to enjoy that game, but it wouldn't let me lol. Edited February 21, 2016 by Terra Nova

It was so broken and crashy I was shocked people could play 500 hours and more. Coming from psp and DS background, 100+ was being super grindy and few expect in some RPGs like pokemon and fire emblem. But yeah, I owned a GBA in my young days, so crashy>save files that randomly delete themselves. So I steeled my heart and just played.  I still have stuff to do, like the mages second act and vampire cure quest. but it much better now. If I can play three hours with no crash I'm chill. Signette
Odd but Skyrim broke my CTD record in every nomination. Both vanilla and overloaded with mods Morrowind along with Oblivion were MUCH more stable with very few CTDs, freezes and etc unless I broke them on purpose... CaptainPatch
DO keep in mind that the PCs available in 2006 were not nearly as powerful as the PCs available in 2011. Accordingly, game specs in 2006 weren't as demanding as they were in 2011. That is, there is a distinct probability of more things going wrong when the machinery is more complex. And naturally the relationship between hardware and software gets more complicated. The greater the complication, the greater the potential for things to cause CTDs. (Which is a PCs way of expressing, "I just can't take it anymore!")
