Iv000
I'm worried about my CPU giving issues, but the rest meets the requirements, Dual Core 2.9Ghz Intel CPU3gb RamSapphire Radeon HD 6870Win 7 32 bit Any idea if I should be able to at least push it on high? I don't really have the cash to upgrade my CPU right now, which will require a new motherboard as well as new RAM as well. You will do just fine, don't worry.Skyrim probably won't even use more then 2 cores. If it will then I'll be impressed.I'm sure you'll be able to put it on very high without any problems.
Halororor
I really hope so. It would be awesome, seeing as back in the day when I first got Oblivion I still had a Geforce 6600, and I could barely play it on low. Would be nice to have quite the opposite with Skyrim. :P

VBlackfang
Can someone tell me whether a Nvidia Geforce GTX 280m video card for laptop would be equal to/ better than a Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 video card for desktop? GTX 260 is the recommended for Skyrim, but I have a 260m, which doesn't meet the requirements. I'm thinking of replacing my 260m for a 280m. If I did, would I then meet the recommended specs? According to THG's chart (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card-gaming-performance,3042-7.html), of NVidia's mobile video cards only 570M equals GTX 260, and 580M exceeds. Otterian
Thanks for the input. It really sucks that I'll have to miss out on all the mods, but it would suck even more if I paid full price for a game that my computer couldn't run.http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/ its listed under The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Well thank was helpful; thanks a lot. I passed all of the recommended tests except for the graphics card, which at least meets the minimum requirement. http://d1ylr6sba64qi3.cloudfront.net/global/assets/images/graphs/mp_rf_3.gifUnder the list of recommended video cards, it had this for only $25: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=149617&Sku=A271-5456I've had a bad history of buying the cheapest thing available and regretting it, but I'll be getting it exclusively for Skyrim and I don't really have the budget for anything else (considering that I'd still like to get MW3 and BF3 among other things). Would it make a difference? Edited October 29, 2011 by Otterian

Kudos for you!

Would it make a difference? The AMD Radeon HD 5450 is NOT a gaming class video card, it's not even entry level quality. It's intended for those that wish to have multiple monitors in an office environment or for rendering 1080p streaming content in an HTPC. You can find an older model video card that is going quite cheaply now due to stores wanting to liquidate stock of older items, but that is still capable of decent gaming, esp. at reduced settings or resolution. You can get a NVIDIA 9800 GT for $50 just for example.

You should be aright with that, maybe high, the lack of bandwidth might be a problem heading in the ultra direction.
