you cant test these features
https://bethesda.net/#en/events/game/fallout-4s-all-new-survival-mode/2016/03/29/96
without one bug who was reported since release day.
Is it so hard to understand!?,
Console is debugger and a helper to get the id of an problematic object as accurately as possible. Instead of posting an description where they can find rock x and tree y and hole z in worldmesh.
But the report of the right id will change nothing.
Bethesda will always remain Bethesda.

Hey! This is awesome! Give a little value and reward for every can of cram or box of sugar bombs I pick up.

Sucks about the mods being disabled, as well as the console...but I admire them wanting to fix any balance issues in house, instead of releasing a half cooked meal for the Nexus community to finish off.

This sounds great. Hopefully Bethesda has just disabled console for the beta version. Unfortunately, Bethesda games seem to have enough bugs that console is needed, at least occasionally, just to correct things! It's definitely a mode I will use, but not if it means I'll be unable to use console for bug-fixing. Edited by Mr_SpongeWorthy

@calleb666 Considering we had it from the start/ it's normal for Fallout/Elder Scroll Games it's a reasonable compliant + if you factor in how the console helps with some of the bugs in their games and really if you want to cheat with the console it's your choice hell if you wanted to you could just as easily cheat with mods

Yeah, all you need to do is compare the beta and pre-beta executables in a hex editor and manually make the needed changes to re enable the console! Oh wait... that's a lot of work...

Is it not possible to have the BETA and NORMAL version of the game? How difficult would it be to switch back? I'm eager to roll a character on the BETA, but don't want it to affect my other saves, or my mods/load order I've set up so far. It's obviously completely understandable why the console is disabled in the BETA executable, and I'm cool with it-- I'd just like to keep my BETA separate from my active release version.

Anyone have some advice or instruction? Thx :D

Cheers,

R

New Survival Mode: You can only opt into the survival once, to deter difficulty switching. The console is disabled.

I don't think access to the console is going to be an option when it goes live.

I think you are correct about them locking down modding.

Sure they only made it hard to mod a couple times, but there is still one thing many people forget. Because mods will soon be on consoles, Bethesda wants us to use Bethesda.net to download and play with our mods. This means modders on websites like the Nexus will have a hard time making mods without putting them on B's website. Also, this will most likely affect mod managers (NMM & Mod Organizer), and I can see to some extent that F4SE might not work one day.

I really like Bethesda, but in terms of good gameplay, they are really bad. Story telling, characters of all univers are very well done and makes it great games.

The eat, drink and save part of the new patch, is really dumb. It looks like they haven't learned anything from Fallout New Vegas. Gopher said it very well in his "rant" video.

Yes, this is beta. They will probably fix it and make it okay but still i expected something more solid with this beta.

I hope that they can improve the performance of the game overall, this is at least for me, the most important part.

Bethesda games are a great framework to build your own game and this makes it the best game out there, even when the core game is not that good, gameplay wise.
