Fatalmasterpiece
's say for example that I am applying for a job at an indie game studio I wanted to work at, and I wanted to show them the last project I have been working on. I don't really feel comfortable sending my potential boss a link to a website that peddles soft core porn like the Nexus does. I can't just send him/her the link and say *and by the way, make sure you filter out the porn content on the website*. Want not sending them a review of the mod on youtube or something? Most Youtube mod reviews are even worse. They make the thumbnails softcore porn for click bait, not to mention most commentary is pretty bad like the juvenile posturing of MXR. It's better to make your own blog to feature your creations and then you can mention it has 1000 downloads on the Nexus if you feel it worth mentioning. gunslinger6792
I'll just state the the support for bethesda.net has been lackluster. I got accepted into the early beta but I'm having trouble being able to download it. After some initial help from bethesda I've seen no help and little overall help on their forum. Moksha8088
Excellent point TeamBacon. Hard to know what such an indie game studio would make of the Nexus due to being unaware of its existence. The Nexus would overwhelm some indie game studio that participates in the Game Studio Temperance Movement. How could they possibly be expected to cope with scantily clad characters, game violence, and horizontal Elf ears?
Itauske
As you may know, the FO4 Creation Kit has entered closed beta. While I am not currently in this beta, there is evidence that Bethesda is updating Fallout 4 with their own "Bethesda.net launcher". Additionally Mods.Bethesda.net has been activated on their website and directs to a Bethesda "workshop". This seems to indicate that Bethesda is planning to release some sort of official mod capacity far beyond what they have in the past. http://i.imgur.com/ZxyjiPj.pngFor those who may not know, in the most recent Survival Beta, Bethesda has changed how the game reads plugins. While initially many users assumed Bethesda intended to disable mods, in actuality they have changed the way game loads them. In fact, after trial and error, it's been discovered plugins function just fine as before, but with some changes to their loading. What does all this mean? We can't be sure yet but I'm interested to hear other's insights into this. Ohey this is my post it just means trying to access the updater exe in the main directory prevents you from actually downloading updates to the launcher.now if I can get it to actually work properly, as in have it actually load up the launcher screen, I can actually try out Fallout 4's creation kit. But the point I was trying to make was not a cheap shot at the Nexus, but simply saying that having other options is a good thing.

Your potential boss would have to create an account on the site, go in to his preferences and specifically turn adult-content on in order to see such content in the first place.... MagellanDiMarco
116I must 100% agree with the "competition is good" ideas. Competition forces all parties involved to better themselves in order to stay relevant. That being said, I am OH so thankful for the day I found the Nexus. There have been many many ups and downs here, from entire new worlds created (think Falskaar and Wyrmstooth for Skyrim) to sophomoric eye-candy (CBBE and SOS), but the one thing that has remained true, is that we all can choose what we want to DL (or even look at). Might I also remind you that our hosts here fork over a chunk of change to give us the ability to have access to the larger mods. And to quote nightmarecandle from r/skyrim, "Steam is for the those who want quick, easy mods imo. If you want the real stuff you go Nexus." Side note, recent studies have shown competition has no universal positive effect. It only works on those who are competitive in nature, and has been found to discourage those who are not, even when they are clearly better at a thing than those who do choose to compete. Fatalmasterpiece
Wait, I thought we werent supposed to discuss any of this with the NDA? >.>I'm not part of the beta and I haven't signed any NDA. I blocked out their name in the SS since he evidently did. Anyways, the SS was only for the inevitable "How do we know this is true, we need screenshots" question. It's interesting some people's interpretation of the Nexus though. It's essentially a file sharing community that just happens to focus on game mods. In fact, the quality and decency of the content on here is far better than most because the staff has kept high standards. Even more impressive is that fact that all the content is legal, not infringing on copyright which is something very few other content sharing communities can claim. If you're sending your potential boss a link to the Nexus for your mods you are taking the wrong approach anyways. You should have your own digital blog/portfolio displaying showcasing your content.
