Why do people seem to prefer Fallout New vegas to fallout 3.

Monkey is either a troll, or a complete idiot. The area around DC is large if you didn't know, and the bombs would hit only the important area's. Sure the fallout from those bombs would spread, but not everywhere. People could survive, although it would be tough to do so. Just because the water is irradiated doesn't mean you can't drink it.

I would like to point out that those of you are looking at the Fallout world in terms of how we know radiation works in the real world. Fallout, including how radiation works, is based on what they knew in the 1950's and the sci-fi ideals from that time as well. Due to that you have the giant radiation mutated monsters, radiation not being as deadly as it actually is, and so on. So, MonsterMonkey, you are wrong.

Oh yeah you are very clever , when you have 700 km/h wind burning everything for about 1 mile around explosion it's clear that people can survive and this is just for Iroshima kind bomb, since the 70's coutry like china have atomic bomb 15 time more powerfull !!!

You underestimate the power of this weapon, you should learn, it'is so powerfull that it prevent attacks, this is why USA will never declare war to Pakistan or North Corea or even China, and this is why they don't want Iran to have it.

And yes you can drink it but it will surely kills you,or give you cancers.

And of course the 50's mood of the game is a tribute to old SF like protectron looking like "robby" i never said else, it's people that says that fallout3 is unrealistic cause after

200 years the world should not be so wasted, this i don't agree.

I know exactly what real radiation does, if the game was realistic you should die of irradiation each time you get 2 rad/s, and people would die of many lethal cancers, you should have mutated embryos too and you never have those green gas, radiation are invisible.

If you know what real radiation does then you would know that the world of Fallout does not follow those rules. Try reading the Fallout Bible to understand the major differences between the real world and the Fallout world.

What i say is that if the game follw the real radiation effect then ther ain't no game at all.

Before answering please read me , but ALL words and you'll see that i say exactly the same as you i said "And of course the 50's mood of the game is a tribute to old SF " wich means what you say.

If you have waited 5 min you'should see that i had edited my post, i' m personally concerned by radiation problem, so you 'll never teach me nothing about this, i'm completely right in what i say you should re-read me.

I'm not english so maybe i wasn't clear.

You are completely right about real radiation, but you are not right about the rules of radiation in the Fallout universe.

I like F3 much more than F:NV. A few reasons:

As much as I disliked 3Dog he's WAY better than Mr. New Vegas and so is the music!

Supermutants were interesting and everywhere.

D.C. is way more interesting and complex the Vegas.

........

I agree that 3Dog is more interesting than Mr. NV.... for a while... then I just want to shut him up.. XD

Supermutants aren't everywhere in the Mojave for a good reason. But I am somewhat puzzled as to how they were more interesting to you in F3 than NV, since in F3 all but two of them were mindless killing machines bent on the destruction of everything not SM. Where inf F:NV they have stories revolving around them and many are willing to talk to you.

I'm also curious about how DC is more complex than NV... from my experience NV is much more complex due to faction interaction and the like.

Fallout 3 = atmosphere and design. This is (was?) perfect. It's nice when you feel the game. A lot of things are stayed in my memory. Also, Fallout 3 has Well played, complete storyline. I dislike those empty 100500 "slides" at the end without any play and purpose behind them. Such strict, linear games are always was much more interesting, are much more interesting, and will be much more interesting. Because of high quality performance, which is missing in all those "open-ended-sandboxes". Bethesda has reached the goal. This IS Fallout. Teh drama itself.

New Vegas = everything that's not included in "atmosphere and design". Side quests (quantity), weaponry (really god job), action, more remarkable and colorful characters, good companions. But no feelings at all.

Scenario - "Which one of them are you goin to shoot?" Please...

I don't care about that stupid ignorant b-tard Mr House, who had a region full of almost untouched facilities of any type, good enough for every purpose, including his favorite space travels in 100 years. But no, there is a bunch of ghouls who fled away in 2 years. So what's wrong with him? Didn't tried hard enough? Just die already.

I don't care about that typical "a*s-instead-of-brains-government" NCR... Simply no feelings. They do exist in the game, that's all. Thanks for a bunch of quests. Obsidian should make the Enclave playable, despite the events of FO3 and Broken steel.

I could care less about the Legion. Personally i strongly dislike them, their methods and their purposes, but they have some style after all. Far-far away from Master or the Enclave, but this is something remarkable. Something that i want to shoot on sight. Well, better than nothing.

And excuse me, i do not care about the Hoover Dam, Vegas and entire Mojave region. I'm really sorry to say that.

DLCs? Dead money was nice. Honest hearts is empty. Old world - colorful but pointless, i really hope that Big MT will not be included in canon. Lonesome road is a pure fail of such a nice "single story" idea.

What else to remember? A naive young girl from California with stars in her eyes and a pneumatic gauntlet on her hand. I like her. Thats all.

Wanna make some bets about FO4's scene?

Big MT has been cannon since before FO3, just to let you know. As for the part about linear stories, that is your opinion. Everyone has their own. I personally loved how dynamic the end sequence was in NV, much more than FO3's "endings". I put the quotes there because there were almost no shades of grey in FO3's endings. They had advertised many different endings, not simply two. I don't like to see an open world game where your choices don't have an effect on the outcome.
