Blocky
I'm more worried that when the game is installed on my pc and I load it up I'll be disappointed that the graphics don't look as good as I thought they would. No directx 11 has been confirmed. And some recent videos show brick walls, floors, buildings, flat surfaces, and corners that have no bump mapping or parallax mapping. They look completely and artificially flat. I hope they spruced it up for the pc version :( It's probably not that big of a deal, bt for a game coming out in 2011 I'm surprised. Even Left 4 Dead had bump mapped surfaces on the pc, and that was 2008. Even Oblivion had bump mapped and parallax mapped surfaces earlier in 2006. Elsarian
Skyrim will use DX11. But it will be limited. Todd has stated that Skyrim is meant look pretty much the same across all platforms. Mainly just so console gamers will not be left out and what not. Skyrim is a DX9 game with SOME DX11 compatibility. So there you go. Sorry my friend. But, either way the game will look amazing either way. I just hope that Skyrim will use DX11's tessellation effects. That would be awesome. Sprouts
I'm going to assume that they are also installed to the HDD for better performance. That's the first thing I'm going to do.

PC users are punished by having to wait for mods to fix problems caused by porting a console game. It balances out in the end. PC users will, however, win in the long run. Just 'cause we can have nekkid' mods and you console geeks can't. Nyah. Nyah. Nyah. Honestly, there's advantages and disadvantages to both. I do think that the PC experience will be more enjoyable in the long run. Just my opinion. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go tell my 360 and PS3 that I was only joking so they don't burst into flame the next time I use them. :D
justwannaddl
PC graphics really has stagnated for a while now haven't they? I never thought my five year old rig would still be able to run modern games. A part of me is disappointed to see so little significant improvement in graphics but another part of me is happy that I haven't had to spend more than 60 dollars to make my old rig ready to play Skyrim.

There's a bar called realism and it's being pushed up against more and more with every year. It's a good thing for us PC users, really.
Technogran
In all the game footage ive seen the game looks absolutely stunning, but the xbox runs it so smoothly, wth??? Is the game capped at 30fps or something? This brings me to another point does oblivion slow down at any point on console for you guys or is it buttery smooth 24/7?Oblivion was a early release for the 360. Time and experience is the difference. I totally agree. When Beth did Oblivion, they were working 'blind' they didn't know what they could and couldn't do with it, now they have got the whole hardware and capabilities sussed, and doesn't it show! They had over anticipated the 360's abilities. Blah blah blah... In the end, Skyrim will be a much smoother running game. I'm sure there will be lag and such, but what do you expect? It's a massive game.
PSQGL
Being old school, I place more emphasy on gameplay rather than graphics.Maybe on 360 (albeit on HDMI and all) I won't be able to get all the cool details of a nuclear-warhead-powered PC, but as long as gameplay stays the same, I'm cool. Adrius2
PC graphics really has stagnated for a while now haven't they?I dunno... I think pretty much set a new bar. People should give "WILL IT RUN CRYSIS ON MAX?!" a rest really... Metro is the true tester of PC hardware :) Edited October 27, 2011 by Adrius2
