JimboUK
Sounds like this game lets you fight not only dragons and other creatures but its UI aswel  :wallbash: The UI is the most challenging part of the game, even doing the most simple of tasks is made an exercise in frustration. Did they hire the bloke who designed iTunes to make the UI for this? it's about as frustrating and counterintuitive.
Smelly123
apart from the stutter issue this game is very impressive. sure the graphics arent as good as i thought they would be but it doesnt bother me. its all about gameplay and replayability for me. i find the UI fine and no harder to use than morrowind or oblivion's
vertex23
-snip-Dragon flying around, I press 1 for bow, left click and bow hand moves forward and back - duh, no arrows. I press 2 for arrows, then left mouse to draw bow - same result . Open favorites , arrows show as equipped. ( I did check after binding them) so I manually equip arrows. SAME result. Dragon is now on ground and not too far away. Hit 3 to equip ax & shield - It Works! but dragon has already fried me for half of my health. Dragon finishes me off as I try to run to shelter. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f351/charonn0/ohgeez-1.gif Arrows equip automatically...Unless you really hate running around with a quiver on your back there's no need to hot-key them
mabus4444
Well the UI is pretty awful as many people have pointed out. There are many great improvements to the game. Tons of great wildlife, better animal and people graphics. The water is spectacular. Caves are gorgeous, but i'm very underwhelmed. While the "graphics" are an improvement over Oblivion, the scenery is dull and barren. What happened to the gorgeous lush visuals of Oblivion??? The snowy wintery scenes are gorgeous yes, but, that's pretty much all we get here. Everything is cold, and bleak and lifeless. Yes I know, the game takes place in the Nordic region, but that was the developpers choice. The end result is a fairly cold and lifeless enviroment which really underwhelms. I rememeber first discovering Oblivions greenery, lush forests, and diverse enviroments and being totally blown away by it. You could stand on a tall mountain and watch a gorgeous sunset, and peer out into the vast distance of the beautiful landscape. All we have here is cold mountains with a short limited view, even at maximum settings. I'm very disappointed with the visuals generally. Inside the cities the situation is even worse. Obvlivion's cities blow Skyrim's visuals completely out of the water. I love some of the things they've done with it. Love the ability to cook food, smith weapons and such but overall Oblivion is still the better game. Edited November 14, 2011 by mabus4444
GoodfellowGoodspring
Mainly bugs and the fact that its still current gen. I bet the developers would have gone crazy if consoles didnt exist but a game whats 5-6gb with or without compression is still going to have limits. I was expecting more put it that way, mainly a Sims like system for being friends with somebody..

At least Skyrim is a little varied in its environments.
Illiad86
The only thing I'm upset with so far is the UI. It's just a direct port from the consoles. I really wish Bethesda would have at least thought about the PC players and whipped up a quick UI for us...I mean it can't be that hard can it? Hopefully, it won't be difficult for the modders to make one :) Oh and the grass and trees. Direct rip from Oblivion, not very happy with that. Turned the grass off because it's fugly. The trees I was expecting a little more work into them. Other than that, the game is beautiful. I think it's much more pretty than Oblivion. The mountains are just...wow. When it snows, it actually looks real. NPCs look a lot better and there's a variety of voice acting. Graphics are nice (water is just amazing....), The Witcher 2 still looks better though. But, TW2 was built for the PC, unlike Skyrim. So far, it's been worth the money :) Not very far into it, I'm trying not to play too much :P I've read some user reviews on Metacritic and some just make me laugh. It's either they were expecting the "best game evar!" or they have never played a TES game before this. It was hyped a bit too much, I don't remember Oblivion getting this much attention when it was coming out.
DZ302
Who doesn't like it? Maybe my choice of threads is selective, but I barely hear of people who are disappointed...Pretty much everyone I've heard thinks it's the best game they've ever played. The complaints about UI are ridiculous, it's usually stupid people that don't even realize you can hotkey items and spells.
topeira
It's a great game. Some minor flaws that'll be fixed by mods. Everyone's complaining about the UI yet I don't find it that bad. If you get used to navigating it with WASD its actually quite fast.I dont get what ppl want with the UI. Using the WASD in it is easy and fast. Thanks to hotkeys i visit it only to change appearance and sell/buy. Not that often. Im totally fine with the map too. Its a shame i cant rotate it, though. Its gorgeous. And these are really small issues. The game is amazing. Loving it. Cant see a reason not to get it.

The complaints about UI are ridiculous, it's usually stupid people that don't even realize you can hotkey items and spells. I'ts not the best game... yet. Give it some time for a few spectacular mods to be made and then it probably be the best game ever. I currently am torn between a selectively-modded Oblivion or New Vegas as the "best game ever." I'm used to the UI now, so I complain about it less, but I would like to see it better streamlined for PC use. The hotkey thing was not explained very well from the beginning, so it was confusing to figure out. It would be better if you could also pick which hand to equip to... like if [shift]+hotkey put it in the off/left hand.
