JimboUK
I like to have to options, the ever decreasing choice is something that irks me greatly.
Ghogiel
F3 had several more slots than Ob did. And looking through the esm there are armor addon records. Meaning that system is still in place. But to what extent I don't know. I don't know what or how many slots actually exist ..
minngarm
Well it makes it simple and easy to use yes. Also keep in mind with two suits of armor of different design, you can not wear one part of one and another part of another as they are made differently and will 9/10 not connect right. But thats more so in reallity. I do like having the different slots just so i can say "no those spikey pauldrons are retarded I wont be wearing them with the rest of the set." without having to have a navmesh and texture mod address it. It would self contain the assets to one manageable sub group from the entire collection of wearable assets. Meaning that it would be compatible and all this clipping crap would be a non issue. Think MW with bonemold. And to a lesser extent the 3 different daedric helmet variations. Edited November 19, 2011 by Ghogiel
billyro
I actually like the way it is in Skyrim. The armours can be made to look better, because the creators aren't focusing so much on clipping and can focus on making awesome looking armours. Plus I read somewhere that the less slots are used, the faster actors can be rendered which means there can be more people at once and it doesn't take up as much fps. soot00
I like it this way actually. Keeps your toon from looking like a clown when a chest and leg piece don't match

Psiberzerker
Sure, why not? You wanna go topless, 1, there's plenty of fur, hide, and Foresworn armors with just the greaves. 2, this is a modder's forum, just take that Daedric armor, remove the top, and leave the torso wireframe up, it's not rocket surgery. For me, the big thing is dressing. I like not having to worry about pauldrons, and my backpack. There's plenty of apparel options availible for my fashion addiction even without resorting to the CK. And, they simplified it without sacrificing too much in gameplay, so they could have more actors' AIs running simultaneously. Look at the battles of Whiterun/Solitude/Windhelm. Would you want the forces to be even more limited just so you cn live out your barbarian fantasies of Schwazeneggeresque pecs? Fine, there's an easy solution, it's called the Creation Kit. JanusForbeare
In this instance, less is not more. What's with all the game companies over-simplifying armour/inventory systems? Between the dearth of armour slots, and the mind-bogglingly impractical "outfit" system for NPCs, Skyrim is almost as bad as DA2 when it comes to armour. Also, the wording of the poll is a little weird. You ask people to choose between two options, but the only options we can select are "yes" or "no". Stemin
The inconsistencies of this forum never cease to amaze me. Many of you complain about being "forced" into third person on a horse, but you want to complain about an armor you don't see in first person. Many of you complain the game is "overpowered" and "not challenging" and yet you complain about missing enchantment slots. I like it better. Less stuff I'm carrying around, plenty of enchanting slots to make my guy a god, and I see no reason why I'd ever want to have the option of mixing core armor pieces unless you start talking about baldrics or hoods, etc. which are just accessories anyways.
