wtfmanreally
with a very small bit of a push modifier to avoid any mesh flicker. I'm sorry, but what do you mean with a bit of a push modifier? Mine is indeed flickering, it looks pretty bad. Do you mean scaling it?
Ghogiel
kinda scaling... scaling faces (or verts) in their normal direction. If you use max there is a modifier called push. It's not just scaling the mesh from its pivot or mesh center... it inflates the meshed faces evenly. Blender does it can't think of what it is called though. The flickering might be caused if the blood mesh is basically occupying the same space as the actual visible mesh, and zbuffer confusion ensues. There's Extruding, and there's a Push/Pull option that seems like it does what you're describing.
Ghogiel
yeah I think it is an extruding option iirc, is there and extrude by normal anywhere...?
wtfmanreally
yeah I think it is an extruding option iirc, is there and extrude by normal anywhere...? There is, however, I don't think extruding is the actual answer, since it ends up looking weird (like a bunch of blocks pasted together), or is it supposed to be this way with the edgeblood? Push/Pull seems to be what I'm looking for since it retains the shape of the blade...
Ghogiel
Blocks pasted together.. just sounds like face smoothing gets wiped off, no biggie. But yeah do whatever, it doesn't matter how you get there as long as it's there.
wtfmanreally
Well, I pulled the Blade to make it look bigger, however it still looks pretty bad. I think it has more to do with the texture not fiting. http://i.imgur.com/gE7ZSs.jpg Edited December 4, 2011 by wtfmanreally

wtfmanreally
I can't even tell what I am looking at :pinch: Neither do I. I frankly don't know where these black patches are coming from. I'll just leave it for now.
