yk0520
I've wanted to get the PC version of Skyrim, but after reading about the numerous crashes and bug reports(not to mention dealing with the Steam client),I'm wondering if I should just wait untill Bethesda makes the game more stable, etc.
Roane
In 99 hours of play, I've had two crashes. Playing on a 2 year old Asus laptop with GTX 260M. No mods.
RenownedWolfman
My game has only crashed once in my 100 and something hours played, and i've suffered nearly no bugs and glitches. EDIT: Darn it i was beaten to the punch. Internets to you my friend. Edited November 25, 2011 by RenownedWolfman
cfisher2833
At this point you should probably just wait until they release the new patch they have planned after Thanksgiving. Overall though I would definitely recommend getting the pc version if your rig can run it. The mods released have really improved the look of the game--Enhanced Nightsky, Enhanced Blood Texture, 2K Texture Mod, Tree Re-texturing, realistic water textures...I think that's all I've installed so far and they've made the game look absolutely amazing. Oh, and I haven't been having any crashes or anything like that. The most annoying thing that happened was I had to download a mod that fixes a bug in the game where I couldn't hear Esren in the ratways (the old blades guy). raatorotta
I have had only one crash and it was before latest patch. After patch, none (if you don't count selfmade crashes by messing with console commands)
JimboUK
The PC version is fine if you apply the 4GB thing, I've not had one crash in the 40 odd hours I've played since, the first 30 hours without it were an absolute nightmare.
Bloodinfested
same here if you apply the 4g to the exe I never had much problems, I had one crash in 109 hours of play. Even before I applied the 4g I never had any problems but this is without mods at that point in time. The new enegine overall is pretty stable I mean its far better then any other tes game
scot
My game works fine from day one, only after steam removed TESV.exe my game crashed at least 5 times and for 2 times I had purple and yellow textures but it was all because steam "fixed a game that wasn´t broken" -.-
justwannaddl
I'd say hold off until the construction kit comes along. Skyrim's UI really sucks for mouse and keyboard right now. If you have a controller though and can get the address aware patch to work despite the latest drm patch, you are probably good to go.
