There was a leaked "Let's Play" on youtube for a few hours (now taken down) and .. Yep, it's most likely gonna disappoint a LOT of people.

From what I saw it's almost the exact same plot and gameplay flow as "The Pit" DLC, mixed with a little bit of "Automatron". Essentially after the 1 hour-ish "main quest" of kill this bunch or kill that bunch, You get some new settlement stuff, plus 1 new off-map "Hub" city to occasionally visit that doesn't really have much in it.

And as far as the 'Raider takeovers" are concerned, my guess is that all it will do is rename 'Settlers" to "Slaves" and your "guards" will be wearing Raider Outfits instead of Minute Men outfits..

OH, I hope that you are wrong. But as I've already stated, this is just another FO-4: SIMS meets FO World.

I guess time will tell since today is the release date.

Nothing against the Sims component of the game. It's what keeps me going. Even after finishing the main quest. Which is a first for any Beth game.

That said, I will be disappointed if that's the only thing the DLC adds. I would have hoped for some moral dilemmas. But I guess I shouldn't expect too much from Bethesda and their storytelling abilities.

But on the other hand I can't say I'm really disappointed by their DLCs. The worst in my book was contraptions, which I hardly use. But I find myself using Vault-tec quite a lot.

Frankly, the thought of siding with a bunch of Raiders to then attack settlements I've spent ages building-up from the ground doesn't sound apealing. At all.

Why not just simply place your saves in a new folder before starting the dlc or a new game suited for it?

Many like me already started up new runs.

I liked Far Harbor, but it didn't give me the feeling I was playing FO4, a lot has to do with the fact it has a separate map, disconnected from the Commonwealth one.

Never heard of such feeling before.

I mean, aren't most dlcs in new land masses like islands?

I'm currently on my 16th run-through, lvl 112 (15 days, 7hrs and 43mins of play; over 4000hrs in total spread over all runs)...

And you never having heard of "such feelings before" is a bit of a moot point, as I was talking about how I, me, myself, felt. I mean, every other place you can go to is on the commonwealth map. Except far Harbor. When looking at an oversight of your supply lines, for instance, and at the same time checking happiness and amount of settlers on the icons of the settlements on the map, you haven't got a clue what's going on in Far Harbor unless you go there...

And of course I will start a new game when the Nuka World DLC has made its way to my PC. But, in order to raid settlements, you first must build 'em up, eh? No point in raiding a non-functioning WorkShop...

Which is one reason I really want mods that pre-build up some settlements. There are some really creative modders out there. That way I can pretty much do the 3-4 settlement quests preston needs to open up that faction then tell him to bugger off.

Also, I suck at settlement building. Lastly, being a habitual re-starter spending hours building a settlement just to lose it when I start a new game.. is a huge turn off.

I posted a similar, though somewhat more comprehensive "educated guess" in the Spoilers section, and someone who has played the Beta Version, replied simply that I'm not wrong ...So Nuka World is just a Bugthesda mash-up of The Pit and Automatron

<sigh> So, something to look forward to in a couple of days is the "Nuka World Sucks" threads I guess.

All I can say is that I'm pretty happy that I bought the season pass when it first was offered. Makes it not so disappointing when it comes to the DLCs that have been offered. If I didn't buy the season pass then I would have only considered buying Automatron and Far Harbor with Nuka World as being very questionable. The others were crap as far as I'm concerned since I can't stand settlement building. With all of this said I still like the game a lot and plan on playing for quite a while. And if I do get bored or tires of it I'll return to playing Tale of Two Wastelands. I tried to get into Skyrim but find that game a complete and utter bore.
