[LE] Renovate your House with console

Several people have said that they have added basements to Proudspire Manor, but no one has posted the ids of the stairway segments used in that house. I've been digging through the lists in tessnip and on the site for two hours, and still can't find the Proudspire stairway ids. Specifically, the stairs already used on the first three floors of the house.

If anyone in this thread has the ids saved somewhere, or knows a better search string than "stair" to try and find them, I'd greatly appreciate the help.

I just had an awesome thought. Has anyone tried this with dragons? I'd love to have a pet dragon flying around in my alchemy chamber/treasure room, shrunk down to 1/8 size. Even better if we could put it on a table and have it move around without moving off the table. I wonder whether it would be possible to contain a dragon so that it was able to wiggle around but keep it confined to a given space using conventional walls/surfaces..... ?

I actually tried placing my mini sabre cat and fox on a table, they just, er, fall from it while walking around.

However, there are those cages, sometimes wolves are kept in, sometimes some skeletons... there are square cages and round ones, the round ones hanging from the ceiling.

Anybody knows an ID? :D

Turns out the section I was looking for isn't labeled as stairs at all. Manually searching through through all the solitude house items eventually led to the stairs. For anyone searching the thread in the future, the id of the stairs/stairwell with 3 floors/landings in Proudspire Manor is 57A1A and it's labeled as SMDAFloSol01. Searching for SMd returns most of the floor, wall, and archway textures used in the house.

So has anyone figured out how to add a quarter of one of those pillars in the Proudspire basement? Seems the only pieces involving these columns are the filler pieces, a piece that includes 4 arches and 4 quarter pillars (each quarter being from a differnt whole pillar), and a piece that includes 2 arches and 3 quarter pillars. Horrible descriptions, I know, but thats the best I got. Anyone who has played around with it should know what im talking about. I believe I have searched every single SMdA for the proper piece, and well as all the SMdBArch's, the SMdCArch's, and any of the other sections labeled "arch" that also have SMd in the name.

Actually, Chainsgore said it better I think:

Rounded. I'm trying to keep the esthetic authentic on the lower level. What I'm looking for is the corner of the Archway. You know how there are the pieces that have the pillar and also have a section of the ceiling. I'm looking for those with either a 1 or 2 Pillar base.

Also:

My head hurts. I've been at this for hours and still can't find the pieces I'm looking for so back here again reaching out for some assistance. Gonna be a little more descriptive so I'm sure I'm getting my question across properly. As it stands I have the codes for the Archways/Pillars on the lower floor of Proudspire Manor.

( Where X represents a Pillar * is spacing)

5b380 does 4 corners.

X**X

X**X

6395d does 3 corners.

X**X

X

I'm trying to find the code for any set of 2 corners.

X*** Or this ---> X**X

***X

Or just a single corner.

X

I really would like to keep the look of the room as it is originally. If it's not doable this way I'll eventually break down and just redo the whole place, but I'd rather not if it can be helped.

Never thought it'd be this much of a problem to get rid of a few silly pillars.

I edited that second quote a bit to attempt to make it easier to understand, because until I actually fooled around with it, I had no f*cking idea what he was talking about.

And Chainsgore, if you figured it out, for the love of god, do share.

I've just about finished my Proudspire renovation. Still some furniture to add and I might add a dirt floor to the basement and rocks to the walls to make it appear to be built out of the rock that all of Solitude is built on. I especially like the trophy/library room. I had to build the floor out of castle support beams because all the pre-fab'd floors were either too big or too small to create the opening I wanted. Still looking for an appropriate rail for the stairs and hopefully find a rug which I can lay over the stairs as the wood on them looks old and crappy.

I also like the archery range in the basement. You can recover any arrow fired down the range. Feel free to ask for the IDs of any object you see. If I can remember which one it is I will gladly share it.

Wow! Looks like you've put a lot of work into that! Barely even resembles the original house :P Nice

Thats freakin amazing...haven't finished most of the quest line because I'm trying to decorate my house...

LOL, I TOOK OUT HALF THE WALLS IN BREEZEHOME AND CAN'T GET THEM BACK HAHAHA.

Any you guys got any tips? That would be helpful, I already know most to get by like the getangle/setangle and getpos/setpos commands, I also know how to get items and stuff using the help command or by going through FNVEdit.

Thanks. I haven't done a lot of quests either, aside from finishing the thieves guild and dark brotherhood lines. Spent more time renovating than questing. As for putting the walls back in breezehome, when looking at editorIDs in FNVEdit you'll see an abriviation of WR infront of a bunch of the IDs. That stands for Whiterun and all those IDs will have a similar design. You'll have to pick through them and see which ones best fit the breezehome walls as I haven't touched that house for renovation just yet. When putting the walls or floors up, the most difficult one to place is the very first floor or wall tile. Make sure you get it's X, Y, and Z angles correct because if you're off just a little bit on that first tile, you'll be off by a mile by the time you place the last tile. Once you get that first tile perfect, type Getpos X, Y, and Z. Then place an identical tile right where you have the first tile. While the console is still up and after using placeatme to place the next tile, move the first tile one direction only. For example; click the wall tile, getpos #, placeatme (identical wall tile), setpos X -/+# (move the tile one full section along the axis you want the wall to be built). Follow those simple steps and you can have a full room built in an hour or so.
