Winter is coming

My question is very simple:what all of your settlements will do when real cold will begin

and snow will fall?

Even Sancuary houses are full of holes and it is impossible to survive there.

Beth's didn't think of that one huh.

Oh and all your crops will die in the cold.Hello hunger!!

Water in the river freeze.Yup.

Really painfull way to die.

I mean its clearl summer time in the game. What month?June?August?Nice.

So dont build your pathetic settlements. There is no point to that.

Only prolong your suffering.

Hey settlers you've got three months left to live!!!

And then the cold will kill you.Slowly.

So do yourself a favor:shoot yourself now!!

Spare yourself the misery of slow death in the cold.

My only assumption is that one of the effects of the radiation is that weather changed as well. We can assume there is no winter (because we never see it), but honestly there very well could be. If there was, you really wouldn't need to shelter yourself in a sealed home to be safe. Basic shelter and fire would be more important. Wearing the appropriate clothing and fire being the most vital. I suppose those little campfires and trash can fires from the Wasteland Workshop are all the more helpful in that regard.

Winter is coming? So what? The old sancturay houses have been torn down and recycled a long time ago. I only build houses without any holes, open windows/door and with heating/fireplace in most of my settlements.

The autobutcher and other contraption machines are producing tons of canned food. Mutfruit, water, brahim milk is stored in barrels in my warehouse. Vault 88 is also almost finished with plenty of room for hundreds of settlers.

I'm looking forward to install the season mod with autum and then winter setting :)

A Nuclear Winter?

After the bombs fell the debris sent up into the air would have caused several thousand years of global warming similar to that caused by the Chicxulub asteroid. That would explain why the Wasteland is so scant. Rather than bundle up you should grab your beach chair and catch some of those (nuclear) rays.

Yeah, I always thought the Great War caused atmospheric disturbance which altered the seasons, so there aren't any seasons.

Yeah, I always thought the Great War caused atmospheric disturbance which altered the seasons, so there aren't any seasons.

That idea was always pretty ridiculous. Initially following a nuclear war you would have a period of intensified cooling as the number of particulates launched into the atmosphere block the majority of sunlight from reaching the earth. As heavier particles fall out of suspension, what remains are large amounts of CO2 (which is already highly concentrated in our atmosphere but would be heavily increased by the number of fires that would break out globally in a nuclear strike). This heavy CO2 creates/intensifies a greenhouse effect, gradually normalizing temps, but then increases them beyond previous levels. Climate would not stop. The only way that would happen is if our atmosphere were removed and if we managed that, then nothing would ever be coming back. I would expect that after 200 years, the environment would begin to approach previous conditions. This of course depends on just how much CO2 was released and ocean acidification would definitely still be a concern. At least that would explain away some of Beths laziness with all the missing fish.
