croc123
Download throttling / speed / methodology comments... Over the period May 28 / 29, NZ time, my downloads seem to have been in the range of 1.4 to 1.9 MBs. I am probably using the CDN, but at times have forced a download through American or European 1 or 2 with pretty much the same results..Also, until recently the system would ramp up to a given speed (usually 6 to 8 MBs) then drop back to near 0 and start ramping again. Please, set my expectations as to what I should be seeing for throttling method and current MBs limitations. Thanks, Croc
Thandal
@croc; The only "throttle" the Nexus puts in place is the 1024Kbps d/l limit on OTHER THAN Premium and Supporter accounts. Any other bandwidth issues are either inadvertent problems with the CDN, or the result of actions by others (like your ISP) that are outside the control of the Nexus. As a premium member, you can select a "preferred" d/l server, but there's no guarantee that'll be any faster for you. (There's no guarantee of ANY particular level of service, for that matter.) I recommend experimenting, and reporting consistent issues directly to Dark0ne using the "Contact Us" link found at the bottom of every page. croc123
Thandal, as a retired systems engineer I hope you are wrong. I was wondering if there were any reasons for the rather low d/l speeds that I experienced on those days specifically in regards to the file "Legacy of the Dragonborn V18 Final Core-52248-V18Final.7z". And, as a matter of curiosity, what was the intention of the "ramping' traffic shaping profile that I was used to seeing.
Thandal
As a current IT engineer, I'm not. The Nexus does not impose any deliberate throttle except the 1024Kbps limit for non-Premium, non-Supporter accounts. Again, for consistent issues please use the "Contact Us" link. WolverineSix428
I was wondering if there has been any thought to adding a button in the user area /view your download history area/ download history file /rating button, that could be activated by the user, that would indicate the mod author has additional instructions or thoughts for making his mod work properly .(Or am I just being too lazy ?)I am working on re installing F3,and FNV ,Skyrim & Skyrim SE (To name a few) for some new run throughs and am finding that a ton of the mods need more than just reinstalling with my mod manager's and since it has been a few years on some of the game's this would be very handy for me and I would expect most modders would appreciate itAnyway just a thought .I have used the Nexus for years and loved it
iiiears
Your site is helpful, well organized and encyclopedic in the number of available mods. I want to donate to all of the enjoyable things you do so well without having all of my details on yet another server. Can I please use Paypal? Thandal
@iiiears; Yes, the Donation page accepts PayPal as a method of payment.
