Got a question about Oghren's epilogue and how it relates to Awakenings. Here are the only two possible endings for Oghren in Origins:

If Oghren warm or better:

"Oghren accepted a position as a general in the army of Ferelden, the first dwarf ever promoted so high, and eventually both sobered up and married. When his first son/daughter was born, Oghren held him/her in his arms and wept--and named him/her after the friend who had changed his life so long ago."

If Oghren is less than warm:

"Oghren remained on the surface for a time, adventuring as far as the nearest tavern and gaining a reputation as an occasionally dangerous nuisance. Eventually he left Ferelden, accepting employment with a mercenary company renowned for its supply of fine ales."

The problem is that the first one talks about his getting married, which I'm pretty sure only happens if you complete the Felsi quest successfully. If I change the condition so that Oghren has to be warm AND hooked him up with Felsi successfully for the first ending, and the second ending for all other conditions, will this be fully consistent with Awakenings? Or at least *more* consistent? I know there's a quest in Awakenings that involves Felsi if you hooked them up, and I'm fairly sure there's no indication that he's married if you didn't, so is there any downside I'm not aware of to making the change I'm talking about?

@Qwinn; The second epilogue paragraph only sort-of works as a backstory for DAA. You find out that Oghren left ("abandoned" would be a better term) Felsi and their child in order to try to become a Grey Warden and she shows up at Vigil's Keep to confront him about it. So no matter how things stood between Oghren and Felsi at the end of DAO, they definitely did hook-up before DAA, and Oghren definitely feels guilty about leaving her and the baby.

The DAA Oghren Personal Quest is to convince him to re-enage with them. But because his approval chain in DAA is so severely bugged, (starting with the fact that his ending Approval Level from DAO doesn't carry forward) it's almost impossible to make that happen without mods that can boost it for you.

[Which reminds me: I should have a legitimate DAA product key (as well as one for all the other DAO DLC) I'm not using if you decide you want to examine, explore, or just play any of those. Might have to coordinate with the EA Game Advisors to get it to work for you, but I have... contacts. ]

LadyHonor and Paulmckenna: Cool, glad you guys are enjoying the ride.

Thandal: No need for keys, I have the Ultimate Edition, and I will play Awakenings when I'm done here. Very kind offer though!

And good info on Oghren, thanks. So whether you do, fail or succeed in "Oghren's Old Flame" in Origins has no impact at all in Awakenings? Ah well, that's disappointing. And yeah, I'm glad I'll be able to do *something* for the Oghren Awakenings approval issues - at least you won't be penalized in Awakenings for giving him gifts in Origins when I'm done.

For the side quest section:

18. (v3.0) "Forgotten Verses": Asking Justine for collateral before giving her the scrolls will no longer change the total reward received (that's not how collateral works! that's not how any of this works!), and the total monetary reward received will now be reported accurately at the end of the dialogue.

All right, was going to start working on Morrigan's personal quest, but that led me to look at all the camp events code, and I spotted a few bugs with Wynne and Leliana's confrontation in camp if you taint the ashes. For one thing, it seems if Wynne leaves, then Leliana doesn't, which really doesn't make sense. It should actually go the other way. I've inspected the various ways this can be resolved, and it boils down to this:

When entering camp after tainting the ashes (SPOILERS):

1) If Wynne is not in camp (you never recruited her, or you had her with you when you tainted the ashes and killed her, or you drove her out with extremely low approval) and Leliana is in camp, Leliana will confront you but she doesn't know for sure what happened, and it is possible to lie and convince her that the ashes are safe with high enough persuasion.

2) If Wynne is in camp, she finds out exactly what you did, and therefore so does Leliana. They will now both leave - no chance at persuading Leliana that the ashes are safe in this case. Previously, Wynne's leaving would prevent Leliana from ever bringing it up.

3) If you didn't recruit Wynne at all when the ashes were tainted, the only way she will now find out you tainted the ashes is if Leliana was in the camp when you tainted them and you never go to the party camp (where Leliana has been waiting to confront you) until Wynne has also been recruited. This is the way the code works out but it seems logical enough to me - if Leliana is still itching over the issue, she mentions she's worried about what happened to the ashes, Wynne investigates, and discovers what you've done.

Note that Leliana will still not confront you in camp if she was with you when you tainted the ashes, she was hardened, and you successfully intimidated her at that time.

EDIT: Actually, upon further review - it looks like the intent WAS that Wynne leaves only if she was recruited at the time you taint the ashes. So delaying recruiting her until you've done it - that should actually work all the time. Will make it so. Edited item 3 above to reflect what will happen.

Okay, that's done.

29. (v3.0) If both Wynne and Leliana were in camp when you tainted the Ashes, only Wynne would leave, and Leliana wouldn't react at all. They will now both leave, as Wynne informs Leliana of what you have done.

Now to try to restore Morrigan's personal quest camp event.

So here's a few incidental things I'm fixing along the way:

Multiple Companion Fixes:

3) (v3.0) When any follower leaves the party for good, a bit of script was supposed to remove the codex entry describing what kinds of gifts they like so that that did not remain the final codex entry for that follower. That bit of script was bugged and did not work at all. It does now, though the gift entry will not disappear until the next time a save game is loaded.

Leliana fixes:

15) (v3.0) Telling Leliana to leave forever did not add the proper codex entry.

Morrigan fixes:

28. (v3.0) During the Dark Ritual conversation, Morrigan will only call the player "My love" if she is actually in love. Previously, she'd do so merely for having an active romance, which could be true even if it never went beyond light flirting.

Extended a previous Morrigan fix:

11. (v2.0) Talking to Morrigan about the Dark Ritual, restored a response ("Why did you not mention this earlier, then?") that you would only see if Alistair had left your party permanently. Corrected to the intended check that *Morrigan* had *not* previously left the party permanently. (v3.0) Did the same for "But I need your help against the archdemon".

29. (v3.0) "Flemeth's Real Grimoire": If you left Flemeth alive and gave Morrigan the real Grimoire, completing the quest, you could still ask Morrigan if she really wanted her mother killed in subsequent conversations as if the quest had never been completed.

30. (v3.0) "Flemeth's Real Grimoire": Restored the proper ending of this quest, including a significant amount of dialogue with Morrigan ("You have returned from the Wilds") that was meant to play once the player had acquired Flemeth's Grimoire by any means and returned to camp. This dialogue will trigger automatically at that time. Note that if you give Morrigan the Grimoire as a gift before returning to camp (by adding her to your party somewhere else), you will no longer get this scene.

EDIT: I'm still thinking about whether or not to have it start automatically... I see good reasons to have it go either way. I'll investigate more and edit the description if anything changes.

EDIT 2: Yup, changed my mind. What convinced me that giving it to her as a gift was intended/required to come *after* the "You have returned" conversation is that, when you gift it, she says "I'm glad you were able to find it after all"... that "after all" doesn't make sense unless you had the "You have returned" conversation with her and told her you never found it. It appears me now that the gift giving option was only ever intended to be used if you either told her you never found it or told her you were keeping it in the "You have returned" dialogue. Edited the description to reflect this change.

(A couple of these Arl Eamon fixes were mentioned before, just reprinting them cause it's interesting that ALL the romanceable characters were affected one way or another).

Morrigan fixes:

31. (v3.0) If Morrigan left your party because of low approval or because you refused her quest, her codex entry was not being updated properly.

32. (v3.0) "Flemeth's Real Grimoire": If you agreed to leave Flemeth alive, but talked to her again and changed your mind, killing her, you'd wind up with the flags for both her being alive and being dead set, which caused several buggy effects down the line.

33. (v3.0) "Flemeth's Real Grimoire": If you agree to leave Flemeth alive, she will be gone the next time you return to her hut's exterior as was intended.

34. (v3.0) At Arl Eamon's estate, a romanced Morrigan would only offer her non-romance dialogue.

Alistair fix:

3. (v3.0) At Arl Eamon's estate, a romanced Alistair would only offer his non-romance dialogue.

Zevran fix:

5. (v3.0) At Arl Eamon's estate, a romanced Zevran would only offer his non-romance dialogue.

Leliana fixes:

6. (v3.0) At Arl Eamon's estate, and anytime after asking Leliana what she knew about your current location, a non-romanced Leliana would respond with her Warm dialogue even if she was really at Friendly.

16. (v3.0) If Leliana told you she was leaving due to low approval, she didn't actually leave.

Leliana was the only romanceable character who would offer her romance dialogue at Arl Eamon's estate, but then she had the Friendly/Warm mixup. Another interesting find is that Wynne's main dialogue file has NO dialogue whatsoever exclusive to her being Friendly. Dialogue wise, the only difference you'll see after completing her personal quest is at the City Gates near the endgame.

35. (v3.0) Morrigan will now remember if you already gave her a golden mirror when she tells you about the one she saw during her first excursion out of the Wilds.

36. (v3.0) "Flemeth's Real Grimoire": If you already have the first (Black) Grimoire when Morrigan first discusses it with you, the option of telling her so and giving it to her through that dialogue has been fixed/restored.

37. (v3.0) "Flemeth's Real Grimoire": Morrigan has a non-romance Friendly dialogue that takes place after the quest is completed. Removed the unnecessary restriction that it take place in camp, as the dialogue is coded properly for taking place outside of camp, with a line of additional dialogue in that case as well. Credit to TerraEx and the readme of his Morrigan Restoration Patch for making me aware of this one.

38. (v3.0) Fixed bugged condition in Morrigan's dialogue when checking whether the player was in another romance.

My Wynne never lives long enough to get that dialog. lol
