Ethreon
Just my two cents - for what it's worth. I'm a male and - mainly- playing a male character. I certainly like to see girls in sikimpy outfits - or nothing at all. Yet I dress up my companions - or the occassional female character- in fully covering outfits. Not as much for protection - everyone knows that the less fabric, the higher DT for female "armors" But for immersion sake I think it easier to "get into the game" when Piper - or whoever- is not fighting radscorpions in a bikini. By the poolside though......... well, that's another matter :smile:As for difficulty - until now I haven't progressed beyond "hard". And even so I have boosted my beloved sniper rifles to make sneak, one shot kills on DCs etc. If they get close though.......... :facepalm:Does that make me less of a man? You be the judge of that.If you believe to be a man and got the stuff for it, you're a man.
Fkemman11
Alright, let's look at this in a situation. Early in the game you come across Drumlin Diner with a scene playing out. A standoff between the owner and a dealer ensues and the player is allowed to deal with the situation. Now this is a good chance to do one of several things: 1) You can help the dealer by either reasoning/intimidating or shooting the boy and mother. 2) You can help the boy and mother by shooting the dealer and bodyguard(not sure about persuasion/intimidate).3) You can walk away and ignore the whole thing. 4) You can shoot everybody and take all their stuff (which early in the game you might need). I know there are a few smaller options that I didn't mention (like intimidating the dealer for money when you meet with guns drawn). Now. Instead of your character, your playing Clint Eastwood (from Dirty Harry days) or Kate Beckinsale (NOT as Selene) when you encounter this. Now you tell me- What do they each do and why do they do it? - this may not seem to have much to do with the original topic. But, it does if you think a little bit. :nuke:

Personally I've done everything except shooting and looting everybody - Even playing a Role Playing Game I cannot make myself go the way of the asshole. I've tried ever since Fallout 1........... Somehow I always end up playing a goody two shoes kind of character. One thing I DO like though, is intimidation. I ususally end up shooting the drug dealers. But a couple of times I've had them pack in and get on their way. I think that is very rewarding and I try to do it in-game whenever I get the opportunity and my character is up to it.
Boombro
I'm female and I did play one, but it not really my taste by the end of the day. I like the game to be made hardcore from the start like stalker or Metro. Not beth games. Plus I prefer my hardcore games to be stable. So I just made weaposn do more damage. I have to wonder if girls enjoy a "hard" FO4? Sure, girls like to run around, shoot guns, and maybe blow s*** up. But do they really enjoy the hard, gritty, fights that make guys want to do a primordial yell? Do they feel like a bad-ass when they single-handedly take down a couple of Deathclaws? Do they brag about it later to their friends? Not in a Beth game, but other games yes. Monster hunter, longest dark, darkest and DS. Nothing really hard about beth games at all. but, doesn't play on survival because it's too hard (and she is squeamish about Ghouls). So is there a definite gender gap when it comes to the different styles with which we play FO4? I mean no disrespect. But, for posterities sake. Tell it like it is. I'm a jumpy, coward person but that is for personal reasons and has nothing to do with being female. If a game is hard it is hard. If It scary it is scary. Maybe it more common for men to not be spooked because they show off thanks to social stigma? But that is a whole another topic. To answer op question on a whole, women play in many of ways just like men. The only real difference is what sexy mods they use and I use slotty male vault suit. Moksha8088
I wouldn't want to engage in the tedium of playing survival mode or building settlements beyond the meager necessities. I want to stay alive, have excitement, and experience new adventures. That said, I could go with a few Deathclaw vs. Dragonborn matches in the underground arena of Shezrie's Old Hroldan SE or perhaps I could see taking Llama's upcoming character, Heather, with me when we battle a horde of raiders in the combat zone of Levelers Bunker. PoorlyAged
I suspect that there are more young ladies out there playing hardcore or survival than are willing to wade into this stereotype and testosterone laden discussion. Dolls indeed. As for survival mode itself, I played it and got bored rather quickly. Survival Mode turned into a search for a place to sleep and save instead of a game of exploration and discovery. I liked the "Hardcore" mechanics in Fallout NV better.
Boombro
Did you try stalker games? They are brilliant at hardcore gameplay.
