IndorilTheGreat
Hello. I am sure you are all familiar with life, and how everything eventually dies, right? Well, you see, I have a problem. My grandfather died a few years ago of bone cancer, and I did my best to stay strong, because it's what he would have wanted. Tonight though, I was thinking about him, and about all the things I missed out on doing with him before he got sick. This made me quite sad. Now, I'm asking you, not as a fellow user of the Forums, but as a friend, "Will you help cheer me up?" -gman021
freddycashmercury
Dude, that sucks. You should go to Uncyclopedia's World War 2 article. That ought to cheer you up, for one. And then, go to random Uncyclopedia pages. Always works for me.
Lisnpuppy
OK... I like to read things Like the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy..that is funny. I will tell you my favorite joke... please no one be offended as it is a joke. I am a brunette so I like this one. How do you know when a blonde girl is having a bad day? (see below) A tampon is behind her ear and she can't find her pencil. :)
cazaam
Hey dude, cheer up think of names for your friends. For example, my friend dominic is nicknamed domschmeilhunkerflubermeiber. (Dom-Shmeel-hunker-flooba-miber) shortened to Domschmeil. My other friend Mitchell i named Mitchell Von EnkleMonkey (the letters are the abbrev. for the first four planets). Yeah, potatoes. Chesto
gman... this topic? Good for you. Your gramps would have been proud. All I can say, other than ha ha to what the others have already said, and speaking as someone old enough to have had more than enough first hand experience of grieving... ... is just to keep thinking of all the things about your grandfather which made you glad to have known him. Then think about them some more... then some more. The 'heavy' side of grief comes from thinking about what we have lost, or what we missed out on. Just keep remembering what you had and give thanks to ... whatever... that you had it. You're cool, babe.

My sincere condolences and votes for quick return to the day-to-day life, you can be sure is how he would prefer.
Carah
My condolences. I believe that you grandfather is in a better place where there is no more plain and suffering. I'm sure bone cancer must have been very painful, and the treatment isn't any better. My best friend died of cancer at the age of 22, and it's very hard to cope with sometimes. I think of her everyday, because there are going to be things that remind me of her. As long as I have those memories; she isn't dead, and when the death of your grandfather is not so close it will get easier to focus on the great memories. I'm not a professional, but what I found helpful is to desensitize yourself from the loss by always talking about it, until the day comes when you talk about him and you’re not crying anymore.
MalachiDelacot
gman, my heart's with you. Lost my father when I was 25. I wish he could have seen what I've accomplished and laughed at my screw ups.My nym, (moszibby) was actually that of my godson that passed on a few years ago at the age of 21. I use his name to honour him, and in a sense, he lives on.And Carah is right. Sometimes you do need to talk. I'm not there in person, but you're always welcome to PM me, if need be. OK...I like to read things Like the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy..that is funny.I will tell you my favorite joke...please no one be offended as it is a joke. Two blondes walk into a building.Jeez, you'd think at one of them would have seen it.....
