Redesign Launch - Stage 2 in progress

@ Dark0ne ... I tried to search my mods one by one ( using my load order list of my current game ) and this is the result :

- I cannot find the mods : Projectile Rocket Launcher ( RAW Launcher ) by Quad Rioters ( cannot find even the author and I am clicking the drop arrow and choosing author ), IF-88 Tactical Shotgun REDUX by Skibadaa ... and also, I cannot find the author; anytime I try to look for him, it does give me a HTTP error ( something that I've never seen before ); the other mod I cannot find is : Immersive Lovers Embrace by H3X1C and I cannot find the author as well ... :(

Out of my 66 mods, those are that I could not find and I have to be able to find them, so please help !

Nexus have three major and essential tools that everybody use :

1 - Mods .... so we can install them and WE MUST BE able to find them via the Search tab ... ( this is my main concern and others have expressed the same issue ) ... this is the most important tool in the entire site IMHO. We have more than 2000 mods just for Fallout 4 and I have not idea how many pages are out there for just this game and it would be a PITA go thru all the pages looking for just one mod.

2 - Forums ... so we can post our questions or help others looking for help ( this is not a problem at all cause I have been using it and there are not issues, at least I have not found any error, so we are good in this department )

3 - Filtering our mods ( we have to be able to setup our filtering and lock it so anytime we log in and we are looking for a mod, they will be displayed in relation to the filtering previously chosen. I was able to do this in the old site but I have not idea how can I set it up in this new site, so please help.

Thanks. :)

@ Dark0ne ( and probably to everybody else with the same problem that I reported on my previous comment ) :

- Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games and it is save as such, so I clicked on this game ...

- There is a tab with the name : Mods ... click on the drop arrow and I went to see : My Download History ... and VOILA ...:) all my mods that I have been downloading are listed in there so now I can find whatever I could not find before ( see my previous comment ) .. very nice ... nevertheless, despite it is a great addition to have My Downloaded History so we can find mods that we have installed ( so we do not have to look again either page by page or by using the Search function ), still we have to be able to find those mods ( that are in our history ) by using the Search tab, so my previous comment in relation to having problem with the Search function to look for mod / authors, still apply as one of my concerns of this new site.

- My #3 concern from my previous comment still apply as well so I need help on that ...

Thanks for adding "My Downloaded History" under the Mod tab so I do admit that I do not know if we had this functionality on the old site. :)

Before you could easily choose a category and even type in keywords, to find selected mods.

You still can. Above the mods list, there's a drop-down titled "refine results". Clicking it produces all of your category, keyword, etc filters. If anything, it's more functional, because now you can make all of your changes to your filter without it loading those changes after each click, allowing you to save time by applying your filter all at once.

Also when you hovered with your cursor over a mod it displayed the short description. Now if the description doesn't fit in the window you have to open the mod's page to see it.

Short descriptions are supposed to be just that...

Besides, there are 3 different view modes for mod pages, and two of them provide larger short description boxes.

So I cannot anymore browse mods past the 1st 20. And selecting next page would send me back to general mod list and ignores my keyword.

2nd issue I got is that even when I select 'author to be ignored' I got on search result containing said author.

I've experienced neither of these issues. Have you submitted this as a bug in the tracker?

I love the new design! My only gripe are the self-collapsing menus. It's very annoying when you drag your cursor from somewhere above the Mods, Images, Videos, etc tabs to click something below them only for these tabs to open and click on them instead. Apologies for wording, i'm not sure how to explain it.

dont get your hope up for greysemonkey.

If I can stay on Firefox v50, I can keep greasemonkey. So, not really an issue.

Even so, there's Firefox-based alternatives that can keep the original pre-57 stuff, anyway! Edited by SSJDudeMan

Personally I can't stand the new site layout. I hope to be able to keep using the old version for as long as it's humanly possible. It's easier to sue, more intuitive and less of an eyesore.

If this site had looked like this when FO4 came out, I would never have modded any games. Not only is the layout/colors/etc, an eyesore, but it is significantly harder to get to meaningful information. What was once readily available with a simple mouse over now requires digging 2 or 3 levels deep into the mod in question to get to that data. To make my point as unambiguous as possible. if ANY other site hosts mods that I am interested in using not only will I most likely choose them over this, but should it turn out that their site is even less user friendly to use, I will most likely tough it out secure in the knowledge that they won't be forsaking a working, comfortable and easy to use design for whatever this mess is that you've unilaterally forced upon the users here. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Seriously, when I first got into modding it was intimidating, the fear of messing up the game was palpable. It was only the open natured-design and the wealth of easily available information that encouraged me to try. If, back then, I had encountered this mess, I would never have given modding a second thought and would still be playing only vanilla games. To say this forced redesign is discouraging is an understatement. What is not, however, is the damper is has placed on my desire to continue exploring the formerly fascinating world of Modding.
