I'd say that's not a very good support if you're not willing to stand by them at all. They're not updating to be mean to the user base. The Internet goes forward and sites has to update along with it.

I'll preface this comment with, I don't really get involved with the tech aspect of the site, so I don't know what this Vortex thing is or the exact reasons behind the update, and yes, of course the net goes forward and all, but....

It seems like as far as the layout itself, they're just trying to 'fix what ain't broke' :/

I also kinda take issue with the other commenters saying 'well bye then' to the people who are saying they're not gonna use it anymore. I mean whether there was money involved or not, people obviously find the change annoying enough to deter them from coming to the site, and if there's this many in agreement about it being a change for the worse.....maybe people shouldn't just sneer and write them off?

Oh, I missed this. I assure you my contributions (and familiarity with this site) are more than they appear on my profile (which for obvious reasons I won't discuss.)

Although why you are so blindly throwing toxicity around in a thread about discussing the UI design is beyond me. In fact, a majority of your responses throughout the thread appear entirely hostile and personal, which I have included in my reports of you.

Please leave if you're not going to contribute criticism or feedback concerning the UI changes. Take your toxicity elsewhere.

The new style of the site is simply disgusting. You have removed convenient functions such as clicking on "search" that immediately takes you to the page with filters where you can easily download the mods.
And the fact that the site has become complicated and not understandable is generally horrible.
Stupid and not beautiful flat style, too complicated design and small texts on important links. All this is terrible. Is there at least some opportunity to return the old design or at least correct all this horrible horror that you created with the site?
Sorry for my English but I'm really likely to stop using nexus site ... Over the long long 7 years ....
P.s. I'm still using the old version of the site, which you have generously left for a while. Although you did an awfully disgusting job with a new design ... Disgusting. And I believe that many will agree with me.

7 years, 19 endorsements. You don't seem to be really using this site judging by your history. Also interesting that you have 7 years despite joining in 2013.

You have such strong beliefs without offering any improvement ideas, and despite barely using the website.

As with many others since the new change I have also stopped visiting this site.

Check the stats in the past month and see how people not on the forums are reacting. There was nothing wrong with the classic theme; it was easy to find each section and the images were compact, now everything is random and the images/banners are taking up all the screen space.

While I am not a big fan of the new nexus layout, I realize at some point you will take away the 'old' site. But there are several things that just don't work for me on the 'new' site:

1) I can't get to the user image section of mods anymore. I can click on the dropdown, switch to the user section, but the mod author's images are still displayed.

2) In several places (images sections, comment sections, site image galleries) I can no longer get to anything other than the first page. If I click on any of the page navigation icons, nothing happens. For comments, I can at least go to the forum portion of the site, which still works, but it is a pain because I like the nested layout of the main site better.

I find it hard to believe that everyone is having these problems, or you would not have switched the site over. The only thing I can think of is that with overwhelming amount of 3rd-party content, tracking, and borderline spyware (think anything google) on the new nexus site, the site just doesn't work anymore. At least for me.

I really like the experience I have had on nexus in the past, and am still using the 'old' site for now, but I really hope you get things working again and/or remove the dependency on all the new 3rd party privacy invasion and tracking crap - whatever is causing the problems.

Thanks,

The new site is terrible - totally unintuitive, overloaded with tabs and menus and laggy. I honestly do not know what constructive feedback can one give if the whole thing is just a nightmare to navigate. I used to visit the site quite often, because at one glance I could see if some interesting mods were posted or updated. Now i have to wade through a site that is overloaded with graphics, tabs and menus to the point it is completely unreadable and I just realized I stopped visiting the site. Maybe I am just old and the new format aims at younger crowd or something...but I simply can't stand this.

Reduced the size to 80%, looks a lot better.

Yeah, there's been more than a few users who've attempted to pour their own frustrations out on the admins--not gonna stand for that, myself, especially when said admins are doing this for free, and especially if members are being completely hypocritical (for example, by saying I'm not giving you anymore money--when they never were a paid member to begin with). We're community here--we support each other, even when we don't agree, by at least using language conducive to growth and development, and being civil to one another. That's why the title of the thread is New Design Constructive Feedback. I have no time for people that are wasting thread space with, "Uh, this site sux balls, u suck, I hate nexus, I'm never coming back."

Also keep in mind, they're still tinkering with functionality. Right now, you can't click on someone's profile in the forums, then click on Nexus Profile. Doing so returns a blank page. You have to go to the main splash page for the new site, and then search the mod author's name.

I have tried real hard to like the new design. I can't. It is just frustrating on how unintuitive it is trying to go around looking for the mods. With the old site design, I could just get where I wanted within 1-3 clicks of the mouse. Now it's more scrolling, hunting, clicking, more scrolling. It looks like a giant page full of ads reminiscent of the web pages at the time the internet was gaining momentum. Cues should have been taken form the old design for a little face lift. Full on plastic surgery was just overkill. When I click on list for the display of results, I expected a SINGLE FILE LIST, with more descriptions of each mod, like the old site, but instead we get a double file list with little to no description besides the VERY SHORT titles. As for the images, the image pop up that fills the ENTIRE SCREEN should be burned with fire. I liked how the images from the old style just popped up with that ONE image you clicked on, and when you were done looking, you just clicked on the background and it went away. Easy peasy. Now it pops up as a microsoft image viewer. I just want to look at ONE or two images. Not the entire list of them.

Really, the old style was king and was not designed to look like ad tiles. It was intuitive and very user friendly. Now it's almost cold and plain.

Whoever created this new theme appears to be using a large monitor resulting in all these images looking huge for people with 21'-24 screens, my theory.

I want to report Firefox 24.0 (old version yet the one I use) no longer allows access to the site.
