jasonmorsley
I've installed the program using default location, and as shown in the Gif I cannot log authorise my Vortex to my Nexus accounts.https://i.imgur.com/Zf0f5wdThe program is installed as admin, in the default location.Chrome is my primary browsers, I have reinstalled chrome twice and switched to Firefox to attempt to get it to work. It doesn't. Any help would be appreciated, I'm not sure if this is the right place for a 'bug report' so move or remove the post if it is not. spyvspyaeon
I remember I saw a Google chrome button to fix(something, don't remember for sure) in vortex settings. Otherwise try to change your default browser, authorize and change the default browser back to G chrome.
Dark0ne
This looks like you don't have a default browser set in Windows, so Vortex doesn't know what to do when given a URL to open in your browser.
jasonmorsley
spyvspyaeon, I have tried the 'Fix chrome links' in Vortex settings, it came up with 'no change necessary', and Dark0ne: https://i.imgur.com/PKiIa2z.png Chrome has been set as my default browser, and I have also tried with Edge, Firefox and Safari, none work. I am very confused and would very much like to test this new mod manager.

HadToRegister
Welp back to NMM If you're using windows 10, it's really really stupid when it comes to "Permissions", I.E. you run a program as an Admin, and all of a sudden you can't drag and drop to it. Most likely you're running Vortex as Admin, but not running your browser as admin, so the Admin level Vortex won't give permission for the non-admin Browser to run, or vice versa
BeowulfSchmidt
If Vortex itself, as opposed to the installer, doesnât need to run as admin, it shouldnât be run as admin. Arbitrary and unnecessary elevation of privileges waters down the security Windows is trying to enforce. Itâs not stupid for Windows to enforce security between admin and non-admin applications, itâs stupid to run as admin when itâs not needed. Heck, I have a separate account for day to day use that isnât an admin.
jasonmorsley
Works on an account without admin etc, but I cannot get my main account verified through the launcher.
BeowulfSchmidt
Works on an account without admin etc, but I cannot get my main account verified through the launcher. If youâre actually running Vortex as admin, i.e. youâve chosen âRun as Administratorâ or set the shortcut to Run as Administrator (either of those options should display the Windows UAC box asking if youâre sure you want this application to make changes to your computer), try opening your default browser as admin first. And, as I posted before, if youâre habitually using âRun as Administratorâ, as opposed to just being logged in as an account with admin privileges, don't. :)
spyvspyaeon
This looks like you don't have a default browser set in Windows, so Vortex doesn't know what to do when given a URL to open in your browser. Just did a suggestion. In fact I am experiencing the same issue. Yesterday I spent 2 damn hours trying to login the application. Never executed as admin, never executed my firefox as admin, since I have admin account(and never had that sort of issue on my pc, it's not that stupid.). This issue appear after reboot the computer, because last night I was installing/removing some mods and organizing. The issue starts with the vortex, with no reason the app "forgot the oauth", u open the application and U can't connect to your nexus account because the "authorize" button keep loading untill return "API error" or the browser / application can't connect to API.
