kthompsen
I just wish they announced something big. Beth Studios itself, I mean. Not Zen.. especially not RAGE. Who even asked for that?
Evangela
It's only a big announcement if it's TES, so I don't see what they could possibly announce that could be bigger than that. There's just something about that number 4 and 5. SR stopped at 4.. GTA is at V, I can name a few more. I guess this is the trend from here on out. Waiting a decade for a new installment lol. kthompsen
Anything by Beth Studios themselves would be big news to me. Like those Starfield rumors. But I'm skeptical of all of it. As for TES, I think Beth themselves knows how frickin big the expectations for another TES would be after Skyrim. They won't announce anything until they get absolutely everything right. This will be a loooong time.
tomomi1922
This depends on how you guys see the Elder Scrolls Online. I have it but lazy to play because of the grind nature in MMORPG. In that sense, Bethesda may expect ESO to fill in the gap and the next TES game would come by even later. I personally thought it is about time to move on from Skyrim being it is 7 years old. But I came back and still see so much vitality within the game. It still looks very good. And I bet Bethesda expect SSE and VR to keep us entertained for a while longer. Now, I feel Dragon Age is due. Despite how Inquisition was released in 2014, I felt it's quite a while already since I even touched it. But comparing to Skyrim, the modding scene in DA is rather primitive, making it a game I play twice and move on, like Assassin's Creed, Mirror's Edge, Mass Effect. When I played those games I fell in love. But eventually there was not much left to do. And here in Skyrim, 1 whole month I spent "modding", haven't even got farther than fighting a dragon with Delphine.
kthompsen
I used to love Dragon Age, but even that is dead to me. I can't stomach EA anymore.. but without them, DAI disappointed me both story and gameplay wise. I used to always think I was equal parts Bethesda and Bioware fan, but it turns out it's just the former. But it's especially apparent with EA in the mix, who make a habit of killing studios and now even say that single player games aren't worth their investment. lol. Bethesda keeps it real even all of these years: Edited May 28, 2018 by kthompsen

Bethesda keeps it real even all of these years:I would agree strongly with you how EA seems to stupidly kill off the good stuff because they deem "not profitable". If kiddie porn games are not illegal and make good profit, I bet they would be the first to push for it. Let me tell you my main impression of most DA games: very rich characters, loveable interactions. I was so heavy into the lore and story (and doing my best to try to get a favorable outcome). But 2 things fall short: impossible choices and useless choices. The factions in DA feel equally shallow that once we realize we don't give a crap about which side we chose to help. And the impossible choices are from the overly dramatic storyline that feels forced. I can't remember the details, but I felt many characters just had to get themselves into the thick to create drama and emotion for us. At one point I wanted to tell them "I am not going to deal with your stupidity and constantly getting yourself in troubles for me to solve". Mass Effects are much better in that aspect. But to be fair, I think we are being bias. Skyrim is not half as good without the modding scene and the big community behind it. Without mods, I bet I would have finished with Skyrim long ago already. Edited May 28, 2018 by tomomi1922
kthompsen
I think Skyrim was still pretty great even when I first played, on Vanilla. Although I obviously think mods make it so much better. But just recall what it was like when first playing. Or perhaps what it was like playing the older TES games first. And I still see players who were new to the series adopt it on PS4 or something. Sure, they'll get tired of it and want to mod eventually.. but there's an essential game design here that people fall in love with. Sometimes we forget this, because we're so spoiled with enhancing our game.. but it's great even without that.
LeddBate
While we won't see ES6 anytime soon, the Beyond Skyrim / Cyrodiil team continues its work. We already have Beyond Bruma. Over the coming years we'll see more areas of Cyrodill and eventually the first phases of Morrowind and Elsweyr. Really, in some ways I consider this more exciting than a new Elder Scrolls game.
