LadyMilla
It depends on a number of factors before I even think about buying Fallout 76. First and foremost, will this be one massive server that everyone can kill you when you step out of the vault?
genolune
If it's like Rust or the video LadyMilla posted, then no. Otherwise, I'm open to it. Also, if people don't grind the nuke system to make the entire map a high level zone if I understand Todd & Company's explanation.
jkruse05
I'll give it a shot -if/when it supports private servers through a server tool, or at least ones that don't have to be rented, or someone figures out how to trick it into thinking it's online when it's not. and -when it has 3rd party mod support, so outside of CC or Bethesda.netI'm an exploration player, so while the lack of NPCs and likely minimal quests will certainly make it more boring I am interested to see the world that has been constructed. anngr
I have pre ordered it. There are things I have concerns about, but overall its worth giving it a try. A big area of concern is the possible microphone requirement, I dont have 1 and for various reasons, cant & wont use 1. Microtransactions I'm no longer worried about as they will be cosmetic only and the will pay for the (free) dlc's and servers. so optional, i doubt very much if i will buy any. mods will eventually be ok so thats major objection #1 dealt with. and I like exploring too, and there is new stuff to find so ++ there if its crap i can delete it yes its pricy but as i'm mostly housebound, games are my equivilant to a social life, so cheap really
buzzbomb
I'm an exploration player, so while the lack of NPCs and likely minimal quests will certainly make it more boring I am interested to see the world that has been constructed. I like that attitude. Looked at that way, it'd be fun just to poke around and appreciate the virtual world. Unfortunately for me it's just not enough to put up with what's been added and everything that's missing. Nah, the game's not for me. I am a little envious that you (and presumably) a whole lot of other people will be able to enjoy it. I'll have to cross my fingers and wait for the next Beth, single-player, PC experience. genolune
I say just give it a chance after launch and some of it has been ironed out (and maybe a sale on Steam or wherever). If you don't like it, delete it. I wouldn't go so far as to preorder it, though I've been tempted just to check it out. You might actually like it. Cooperative settlement building definitely intrigues me and having someone to talk that isn't "sworn to carry my burdens" (I know, Skyrim reference) via voice communication (either in a third party app or if Fallout 76 has it in built) makes tactics a lot easier. So there are potential positives there, but if it turns out to be like Rust at its most toxic feel free to go "Nope!" and delete and never play again. Zzyxzz
The only interessting part of this game is the world but nothing else. The complete lack npcs is a big mistake. If this game had some npcs etc, you wouldnt feel lonely when you walk miles and see no one. The building mode is even worse than fo4 and even more simplified. And Performance... Well... It was and is a mess in fallout4. It wont be better in 76.The engine was never made for such things and now they are klling it. I could also be wrong and it works even better, but... lol... No...Best ex. is Arma 3 Exile. Its great, you have missions to do, which are guarded by NPC, which come in different flavours. They can give you a major beating. Those offer good to powerful rewards. They are a major point, as many players will gather there. The building System is better than the settlement System will ever be.A coop fallout4.1 would have been a much better idea. This game will fail, im sure about that. I'll wait for Gopher playing the game and see what he has to say. The only reason to buy it, would be to see if i can load it with fo4edit and the fo4 creation kit and maybe get some meshes textures out of it, to import them to fo4. Ofc, just for personal use... SKKmods
I'm an exploration player, so while the lack of NPCs and likely minimal quests will certainly make it more boring I am interested to see the world that has been constructed. +1 The danger for us single player dinosaurs, stuck in our offline tar pits is that the online social platforms are super-successful, delivering such massive predictable annuity returns, that games companies reduce their investments in our offline stuff. The price of progress.
Deleted48943468User
waiting till we get a private server with a modding option with proper quest mods with npcs because all your be doing is killing creatures and find them boring notes and terminals and holotapes for quests Edited June 15, 2018 by Guest
sopmac45
I do not like this new Bethesda addition ... never played an online game and this will not be the first time .. what a shame ... do not know if playing solo is allowed and if so, would I be able to play the entire game or just the main story ? If solo is allowed for the entire game, then I will give it a shot, otherwise, I am out and hoping that the new Elder Scroll VI will not an online also ....
