Did you set up your gamepaths? Vortex only displays a selection of deployment methods after you have setup your paths.

Go to Settings -> Mods and set your path. Now select an option in the deployment field, now you should be able to apply it. Select then your preferred method of deploying mods and reapply.

I opened Vortex this evening and most of my mods were gone. I tried pulling them in from an archive and as I did they disappeared from the archive. Now I don't have them. Any ideas? My install path is E:\Games\Vortex\fallout4\mods. Under that is Move Deployment (Experimental). Under download I have download with Manager and the Download Path is E:\Games\Vortex\fallout4\Vortex Downloads but they are empty.

For no apparent reason NMM took a giant crap. FO4 does not recognize ANY mods. After 45 minutes of screwing around I decided to use Vortex. Followed the directions, everything loaded up, everything transferred. Game / Mods on same drive, no errors, everything looks good.

Still... when I load the game up, start a saved game it tells me that all these mods are no longer available.

I am wasting too much time on this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

AHHHH

Nevermind. When you hit "deploy mods" I "ASS"umed it activated all the mods. It did not, you have to go through and manually activate them. I then started up my FO4 and the saved game still did not recognize the mods. I rebooted... started up FO4, and walla... all my mods were there, and running perfect.

Awesome. :) Wish I just started to use Vortex to begin with and saved a bunch of time, but at least the final outcome was success!

bottomline, disregard my post above. Thanks

This is good to know, because I'm planning on migrating my Skyrim SE install from NMM to Vortex.

i had to redownload vortex and even if i try the suggested deployment method it keeps saying the folder needs to be empty.

It does need to be empty. Copy the files out of the folder, set it and copy them back in if you really want them to be in there. If they weren't installed by Vortex though you'll probably encounter weird issues.
