FO4 Edit Remove Master not showing

I downloaded Project Valkyrie and wanted to remove the dependency on Outcasts and Remnants but when I open it in FO4 Edit and go to File Header then Master files I wasn't able to right click and remove it. I can't find much information online about how to remove it's dependency.

I see a lot about masters but it's never instructions on what to do.
If anyone could help me I would really greatly appreciate it
or point me to a guide for dummies on deleting masters
thank you

Left Click on File Header, then on the Right Pane Window, Click on the Word Master File above the Master File you wish to remove - then simply press Delete (Del) on your keyboard - click yes to the warning popup box - then close F04Edit, ensure the box is ticked next the mod in question, and done.

I have tried pressing delete and ctrl+ delete it hasn't worked for me. Nothing happens sadly.

try right clicking on the mod in question, and select Apply Filter for Cleaning option, then once finished, try again what i said in my previous post.

also make sure the Actual Esp file is also Not Set to Read Only if it is thats probably why you have no option to remove dependencies

Right Click on the Esp and Check to see if it is Set to Read Only if it is, Un-tick the Read Only box.

and also run F04Edit As Administrator.

if all of the above does not work:

if you are on windows 10 and these files are in your C:Drive then their is a good chance their is security measures preventing files from being modified.

a Few Things you can try if that is the case:

1. disable user account control, simply go to - computer - control panel - user accounts - user account control - drag it to the bottom (Never Notify) - may require a system reboot to take effect, try changing this and try removing dependencies again if that fails then your only other option is below.

2. Take ownership of all of your Files and Folders on a harddrive, this Grants Full Access but at the same time Greatly Decreases Security.

Manual changing of masters has been disabled in the latest xEdit versions because majority of people (like you) don't understand that you can't do that since it breaks plugins. This should be used by experienced mod authors only who know what they are doing and prepared to deal with consequences.

Your statement that "can't find much information online about how to remove" is false since this topic is covered in the training manual linked in the FO4Edit description on Nexus, you obviously didn't bother to read anything at all if you say there is no information.

The author had said it was doable since I asked them, I figured it would be easy to do but it wasn't for me.

I had already attempted to remove it the way it said to.

I meant specifically encountering the problem the way I was.

I appreciate that you took the time to respond but please don't be nasty towards me.

I wonder why the author would have told you that. When I tried it out, I was required to do at least one quest from Outcasts and Remnants to access a location required for Project Valkyrie, and also had to visit a few other Outcasts and Remnants locations to continue the PV quest line. I wasn't fond of having some of those O&R locations in my game either but just can't see how you can get around that.

I guess if you really want to see what happens without that mod, you could create a blank esp file and name it outcastsandremnants.esp. You would have to relocate some npcs at various quest stages and who knows what else to make PV work.
